Bob thinks Biden not referring to himself in 3rd person like Trump does all the time means Biden's not talking about the economy, LOL. Mindless cultist only wants to be lead, not to have independent thought, and they're like Sleepy Don, they're too lazy to verify lies and rather make up facts, statistic be damn!

I'm a Canadian, and damn I wish we here across the border is doing as well as the USA. The exchange rate (for us) against the USD is down the toilet, inflation is several times higher than the USA and far from being in check. The labor market is weak as shit. I mean, just look outside of your border and be thankful the USA got through the pandemic years to freak good.

Still 3.8% unemployment, sucker. 4 years ago it was nearly 15%! Choke on it. (Like over a million Americans choked on their last breath thanks to Trump’s mismanagement.)

Month after month after month after month of exceeding predicted jobs GROWTH you moron. Often by double.
That includes lost jobs and new jobs.
Wages are RISING much faster than inflation. Not only are jobs plentiful, at historical low unemployment for a record time, but earnings are higher…the new jobs pay more than the lost jobs.

Eat it. The economy is going gangbusters, so fast and hard the fed won’t lower interest. We recovered at double the rate of other nations. In March we ADDED OVER 300000 MORE JOBS that average better pay, same in Jan, Feb, and probably April. Those alleged 200000 didn’t even register, even with the lost jobs counted the jobs numbers are consistently near double expectations!

Really? Where do you get those insane numbers? Not the department of labor. Probably Trump, who would have simply made them up.

The labor market continues to be stiff and hard like a teenager on viagra at a strip club. The recovery is wide, long, and veiny. I know that sucks for Trump who is clear he wants a recession to help his poll numbers. Maybe you don’t see it because you’re invested in stupidity like Tesla and Trump Media. 😂

STILL WAITING! 😂

😂 even Murdoch publications like Wall Street Journal call the US economy “the envy of the world expected to keep powering higher” and the IMF reports the US economy is growing at double the rate of G7 nation averages, violent crime and murders are down by double digits, unemployment is down by double digits.
Going back to where Trump left off, 2020, returns us to the worst year in living history with the highest violent crime and murder rates and worst economy and biggest deficit ever from the greatest recovery in US history or the world.

Don took a boom and created a recession/depression. Biden took a recession and created a major boom. Maga is a clown show that keeps pretending they’re not the ones throwing pies.

Texas Sheriff Files Charges Over Florida Human Trafficking

newtboy says...

😂 You mean prosecute the human trafficking governors!? 😂

Biden disappointingly didn’t change Trump’s border/immigration plans except to deport more Haitians to Hati. If Trump and republicans had done their job securing borders when they had 100% control of the government instead of trying to build a useless monument to himself, this could be a non issue. Instead, illegal immigration ramped up under Trump thanks in part to the intentional slowdown and shrinking of the legal immigration process, shrinking of the border control agent pool, and misuse of border funding to build a useless fence that’s breached with ease daily.

Biden and Democrats tried to hire tons more border agents, MAGA/republicans blocked it. Republicans then continue to go on TV to say the borders are wide open, knowing those statements are shown in central/South America and convince immigrants it’s the time to come.

What has Texas or Florida done to stop immigrants? Nothing useful at all, just political stunts that, while costing $10 billion, caught zero immigrants or drugs, and economy destroying new laws. Buy OJ futures, Florida’s agriculture sector is crashing because they can’t get labor. Thousands of teaching positions are open thanks to their war on education/teachers. Tons of at home medical care jobs open there too. Too bad Americans won’t even apply.

Newsom should send a convoy of busses full of disfunctional homeless and dump them at the governor’s mansion in Texas and Florida. Tens of thousands of them. Florida needs the workers, call it a jobs program. Texas needs the “fuck you”, Florida needs the workers.

The republicans pushing this to "protect kids" are also:

* Cutting school lunches for kids dealing with poverty
* Promoting expanded child labor
* Refuse to address school shootings with gun reform
* Cutting funds for schools
* Cutting funds for public libraries
* Promoting child marriage to adults
* Saying if a child gets pregnant by rape/incest they can't abort the baby...so basically telling a child to be a parent

what a sick cult bewb is a part of

I really like how you ignore the Republican position that parents should be allowed to sell/marry off 12 year old children into marriage/sex slavery. Clearly you do not have a problem with adults having actual sex with children, but wearing a dress near them, heaven forfend!

Really shows how much you and republicans really care about sexualizing children, not just that you use any topic to disingenuously bludgeon your political enemies with.

Hoping I would miss that among your grade school insults and fact free positions? I know you were….and I know you won’t address it. Snowflake.

Trump really let the right show what disgusting monsters you are, and it’s destroyed you.

Tesla Cam captures INSANE crash

newtboy says...

Logically no matter what it should be truck owner. He/she is responsible first and foremost because proper maintenance is the owner’s responsibility and your wheel coming off is proof of improper maintenance.

If they could prove a shop mounted the wheel wrong….forgot lug nuts, used broken studs, put the nuts on finger tight…they could likely sue, but proving that would be impossible without close up video at the shop of the faulty parts/installation.

#3 is possible, but only after proof of a known design flaw that makes the wheel come off is established. Good luck. This is what Tesla is up against with their self driving software, but only after multiple deaths and many crashes.

Most aftermarket parts have limited liability clauses limiting their liability to replacement of the defective part, not even labor. I know my lift kits had multiple warnings and liability releases in the instructions/warranties. Not total immunity if they intentionally sell dangerously defective parts, but definitely a difficult thing to prove.

I’m not a lawyer, but I have them in the immediate family (grandpa), so I have a little bit of an idea how this usually works in court.

visionep said:

I hope everyone escaped without long term injuries.

I wonder how liability works in a case like this.

Possible scenarios:
1. Freak accident, no one is liable.
2. Truck owner is liable, but only because they modified their car from manufacturer spec?
3. Truck manufacturer is liable, faulty construction?
4. State or federal government is liable because of something in the road that make the truck's tire fall off.
5. After market kit provider or after market kit installer is liable because their modification lead to the failure that caused the tire to come off.

I wonder how it all worked out.

Judge Locks Up Parkland Shooter for Life, Throws Away Key

cloudballoon says...

Personally I'm for aborting it, but the Death Penalty might be what the murderer wants, then is it just publishment? That's granting the ultimate wish of the murderer. But if the majority of the victims' families, understandably, wants the closure of the death Penalty, too. Why the need to be 100% unanimous among every jury? So it's always a gray area.

But locking him up for life makes good business for the Correctional Industrial Complex though. Cheap labor! The only absolute loser is the taxpayers.

Corporate profits are up 54% while labor costs are only up <8% over the last 18 months. What’s driving inflation again?
The largest refinery in America (and the Shell name and distribution rights) was sold to the Saudis in a non publicized deal in 2017, and they have reduced production and raised prices ever since. So much for the energy independence lie, even our oil in country was sold off to the Saudis. Thanks Trump.

For Biden to have control over the main driving factors, he would have to nationalize all industry. That is the answer to the current main driving factors of the current inflation rates. Severely limiting outrageous corporate profits would cut inflation by more than half. Is that what you advocate, or are you just lobbing blame at your enemies despite them having little involvement or control?

12 yr. old Palestinian MC Abdul "Shouting At The Wall"

newtboy says...

I’m against it, it’s a crime.
I believe in work visas, refugee status, and legal immigration. I believe in a system of charging employers who hire illegal immigrants to skirt taxes, wage laws, labor laws, etc. harshly enough to make it not worth the risk (like take the company/assets of repeat offenders, and using the money collected to fund the immigration and naturalization department and figure out how to supply labor without forcing people to be criminals to get a job.

Sadly those systems are broken.

Because those systems are completely broken and don’t serve the needs of either the immigrants nor the employees that need their labor, we have a massive illegal immigration problem because we have a massive labor shortage issue.

There is a parallel, but it’s not the same thing. We have (or had until recently) a strong well defended democracy, and an enormous population and landmass compared to 1917-48 occupied Palestine, and they had only a fledgling government when the Jewish war refugees they invited started inviting and facilitating a flood of illegal immigrants with a plan to take over the small country. Most of our illegal immigrants are here to make money to take home, I’m unaware of any efforts to return Texas (pre-breakup) to Mexican control like 40’s -50’s Israel.

IMO, Israel is like if 2/3 of Texas became “Tex-Mex” by force, a new country where only those of Mexican descent have rights, a vote, can own property, etc. and white Texans are forced to live in NW Texas under guard struggling to find food and water with Tex-Mex constantly squeezing them into smaller and smaller areas.
Strangely enough, you will note that those same flag waiving anti immigrant (not just anti illegal immigrant mind you) far right wingers are staunch supporters of Jewish Israel….almost like they don’t know history….wait…

bcglorf said:

@newtboy,

I have to ask your stance on illegal aliens within the USA today in that case, since you seem to use it as a derogative against 1930/40s Jewish refugees fleeing Europe for Palestine...

Feels to me the confederate flag wavers stance on illegal immigrants in the US parallels the picture you're painting of 1930s/40s Palestinian immigration closer than you maybe like to admit.

Less well known [than other paradoxes] is the paradox of tolerance: Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.—In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be most unwise. But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant. We should claim that any movement preaching intolerance places itself outside the law and we should consider incitement to intolerance and persecution as criminal, in the same way as we should consider incitement to murder, or to kidnapping, or to the revival of the slave trade, as criminal.
