Mandolorian Season 2 Trailer

BSR says...

The Outland TIE fighter was first depicted in the mobile app Star Wars: Card Trader as part of the set Illustrated Outlaws released on October 4, 2019.[4] It appears in the final two episodes of the first season of The Mandalorian, a 2019 Disney+ television series.[2][3]

The ship was originally designed by Industrial Light & Magic concept artist Doug Chiang for the 2015 film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens,[9] though it went unused in the film itself. Later, during the development of The Mandalorian, series creator Jon Favreau and his team saw Chiang's concept and decided to incorporate it into their project. To bring the vehicle to life, a physical prop of the ship was built on the show's set, whereas the TIE's folded wings were realized through computer-generated imagery.[10]

OK, since there's a bunch of experts on this thread, when did the Tie fighters first show that they had folding "wings" (solar array panels) as @ the 1:13 mark. I ain't no Star Wars expert, but this is the first time I've seen this. Help?

Jon Stewart on How Paying Interns Made The Daily Show Better

cloudballoon says...

Jon Stewart passing the baton to Trevor Noah, that was a great move all around. As we also got Colbert & Bee their well established shows that are great in their own right. But Bee especially might have felt stung by not getting the TDS chair as she's definitely the most deserved among the senior correspondents at the show IMO. But that one extra win-wins for the audience.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Pitch Meeting

Digitalfiend says...

This video really does sum up my feelings about Season 8.

I was mostly okay with the first half of Season 8 and could even give the writers a pass for only spending one episode on the battle of Winterfell and the Night King's destruction but...everything after that? Complete shit. I mean, Rhaegal getting shot not once, but twice, by scorpions from the "hidden" Iron Fleet, from what looked like a million miles away, was utter nonsense and only done for shock value. Unlike when the Night King killed Viserion, which was actually moving, Rhaegal's death was pointless and made no sense. For one, how could Dany not see all those ships from up there? Furthermore, it'd be ridiculously hard to hit a fly target, twice in a row, from that distance. Ugh.

The biggest misstep in my opinion was turning Dany into a villain. Her character was one of the more interesting of the series as she went from being a naïve slave, to a fighter, a mother, and ultimately became a champion of the people. She was a strong female character with mostly good, if somewhat flawed, intentions. While her drive to claim the Iron Throne and unite Westeros could be seen as warmongering, she certainly didn't deserve to be portrayed as a mad tyrant. That just seemed forced.

Then we have: Bran the Broken and Jon's banishment to the Night's Watch. What the hell? Everything in the finale seemed so forced and discarded a lot character development established in previous seasons. The last two episodes of season 8 were just really disappointing.

I can only assume it's a total lack of self esteem that makes him do that. He must feel so fragile that any tiny mistake could shatter the illusion he's selling his true believers. Anyone with a vestige of backbone or self worth wouldn't feel that need...reminds me of lil Kim Jon trying to convince himself he's not a monster.

Lol. Oh Bob.

You're partially correct, as per his usual M.O., he offers jobs, but not paychecks.

Clown? Let's see....which politician wears the caked on non human colored makeup and babbles nonsensical noises while flailing his arms?

Foolishly idealIstic? Which politician thought he could solve each and every political issue facing humanity without a clue what those issues were, much less how to solve issues.

Delusional?! Which politician was it that proclaims himself to be the greatest of all time at literally everything, and simply dismisses all evidence and reason to the contrary as fake, making Kim Jon look rational and humble?

Oh...and which one is under indictment or investigation for dozens of felonies and treason?
