gordon freeman in the flesh
J. J. Abrams would have added more lens flare.
This was awesome though. I really wish they would make a Half-Life movie (as long as it's not directed by Uwe Boll or Paul W.S. Anderson).
star trek II-teaser trailer 2013
I'd like an alternate universe where JJ Abrams doesn't make Star Trek movies.
He makes things that are glossy on the surface but flounder at any depth. His first Star Trek was basically just a generic sci-fi flick, a pedestrian one, only barely tied to to the Star Trek universe by character names and oh-so-hilarious nods and in-jokes.
Ideally at this point they should shelve Star Trek for a decade or so and then do a proper TV series.

I watched the episode of "Spoilers" on Hulu with Damon Lindelof talking about Prometheus. It seems like he just comes up with ideas that make JJ Abrams say "cool" and then the guy doesn't bother to figure out how to make a coherent plot out of it.
If you take into consideration that he was a fan-boy who apparently had a producer friend who got him "in the room" to pitch ideas for "Lost," its no surprise he kind of sucks.
Who was the best Star Trek Captain? (User Poll by gorgonheap)
Ok, to address the Chris Pine issue. Lets consider that that first of all they are both portraying the same character. Second, that all of the Star Trek time continuity was utterly decimated, leaving it more then likely that people who had a family history in starfleet (i.e. Tom Paris, Kathryn Janeway, Will Riker, Geordi Laforge, etc.) are now at least bastard children or have had their DNA completely obliterated by Nero. (Not to include all the other continuity problems that the crap spin off Enterprise introduced.) Third, he's only done one movie, all the others, including Luke have done multiple movies or a series. Until the sequel with Chris Pine comes out I don't really see him as having a command until it's been more then 24 hours. Fourth, He was appointed by the previous captain, and considering his incredibly brief Starfleet training I'd have a hard time believing any Admiral in thier right mind would continue to let him remain in command of what is now Starfeets only ship. Fifth, I still haven't forgiven J.J. Abrams for the ending of Lost or the hour of my life that I'll never get back after Cloverfield.
Epic Cat Confrontation.
J.J. Abrams new movie?
M83: Reunion
Directed by J.J. Abrams.

J.J. Abrams does a good job of finding interesting show ideas, putting together a decent cast, getting a budget for a good looking production... and then leaves the shows to writers who have no idea on where they are going to take it, so it ends up a confusing mess that never has a satisfying pay-off.
I was thinking the same thing. When the preview first started I was like 'oh this is a good idea!' But by the end I was thinking 'contrite, cliched, waste of an idea with some useless Hunger Games adaptations.'
I just have a feeling this is Walking Dead all over again. For fans of that show this is IMHO but they took a great comic and a good starting point and threw it out of the window in favor of horrid acting, massive plot-holes and soap opera style cliched writing.
And people wonder why I prefer british TV. Better writing, better acting, shows actually feature mature plot lines with depth and character. Shows like Walking Dead would have been fantastic if a UK producer had gotten a hold of it.

JJ Abrams sucks, and everything he's ever made has sucked.
There, I said it!

I actually thought Lost got better in the second season after Abrams left the show. Of course it all came apart in the end.
This looks cool. I've got a soft spot in my heart for dystopian fiction.>> ^HugeJerk:

Agreed, premise != story arc.

I love how they included the J.J. Abrams signature "unnecessary lens flare" effect. Nice touch.
Awesome Touch Screen Universe Map
Did JJ Abrams help create all the unnecessary "lens flares"?

Anything.
A snuff movie where they beat the shit out of Michael Bay and then make a good transformers movie?
