newtboy jokingly says...

A reminder…there’s well over 1000….

151 NV Governor Jim Gibbons - accused of assaulting a woman, settled a civil suit

152 PA GOP Congressman Don Sherwood - not for having an affair, but for assaulting and choking the woman he had an affair with

153 Republican Judge Mark Fuller - domestic violence

154 GOP Rep Trent Franks - harassment of his office staff - to serve as a surrogate for him and his wife, this makes me feel sad, actually

155 GOP Congressional aide Matthew Pennell - child molesting plea deal to 2 or 17 charges

156 GOP Presidential candidate Herman Cain - sexual harassment

157 Tennessee GOP state rep Scott DesJarlais - OK, these are consensual affairs, but with PATIENTS!!!!

158 GOP Rep John Schmitz - John Birch Society member had two families (one he did not support) - and obviously there was some sickness going on because one of his daughters is Mary Kay LeTourneau the child-raping teacher.

159 California GOP Rep Ernie Konnyu - sexual harassment

160 Styles Bridges - R-MA - This man was filth. He extorted Dem Sen Hunt of WY that he would reveal his son’s homosexuality unless Hunt resigned so the R’s could get his seat. Hunt refused, but then killed himself. This headline is from a citizen’s jury, not a real one

161 Joe McCarthy, R-WI, started the Lavender Scare, a purge of gays from government. Many other Republicans joined in. Technically not a crime, but surely an immoral act

162 Pastor Roy D. Bolden, Providence RI GOP Chair child molestation and sexual assault

163 Ron P Broussard, Jr of TRUMP UNIVERSITY - sex with 8-year-old

164 Republican state senate candidate Sherman Lee Criner - molesting a 6-year-old girl. Prosecutors used an unusual standard of enough evidence to convict rather than probable cause, possibly because he is a popular lawyer. NOT CLEARED, just not indicted

165 Wenatchee Republican Michael T McCourt molested children for 30 years behind a civic front as a utilities commissioner, political operative and community volunteer, Then asked judge for leniency because of all his community activism

166 Unsuccessful Republican candidate William C Mach - child molestation. Ironically, he ran on a campaign to fight child molestation and was endorsed by related organizations

Dn61JpVUUAAh619.jpg-large.jpeg
167 Republican Sheriff Perry Grogan continued to campaign despite indictment for child molestation, probably because of disgraceful coverage like this in the screenshot. He was convicted.

Dn65azvV4AEabLA.jpg-large.jpeg
168 Republican campaign consultant and Baptist pastor Kenneth Adkins - child molestation. By the way, he said Pulse victims got what they deserved. So should he.

169 GOP candidate for OH legislature James E. Dutschke = child molestation, also investigated for ricin letters to Obama

170 Brian O'Toole, Republican Sunnyvale mayor convicted of child molestation. See screenshot as the newspaper is on NewsBank, accessible with some library cards, but not for everyone.

Dn69oLGUwAEfpET.jpg
171 Last month Indianapolis Republican City Councilman Jeff Miller resigned/plea deal for child molestion

172 While Douglas Marks was a teacher, he was probably able to abuse two generations of children because of his wealthy Republican family. His brother was Speaker of the House.

173 Vermont Republican state senator Norman McAllister who's one of the Legislature's most outspoken conservatives charged with sexual assault, human trafficking, and prohibited acts. Made a plea deal

174 SC Rep Chris Corley - domestic violence

175 Gordon Blake, a CA political activist who twice ran unsuccessfully for the GOP nomination to the state legislature - child molesting, sentenced to 194 years.

Rationalist African-Americans tend to dress so people will know from looking at them that they reject ghetto culture.

Aren't we talking about culture, but pretending we're talking about race?

For example, conservatives dislike ghetto crime, but they've wanted Herman Cain and Allen West to be their presidential candidates.

Yogi said:

@shang the point is that yes this is racist. It happens constantly, and while it may not be 100% of the time based on race, there's too much anecdotal evidence for it to be bullshit.

It's like Stop and Frisk, everything about it seems wrong, smells wrong, and is wrong. The arguments are stupid and should've been put to bed awhile ago, but we're still a very racist country.

Part of the problem is that tipped minimum wage has been frozen (thanks to Herman Cain for a large part) at $2.13 since 1991. Even when they saw fit to raise the federal minimum to $7.25 in 2009, they didn't raise the tipped minimum. Since to keep up with inflation, minimum should be closer to $10.35, that puts tipped minimum far behind... and minimum is far below living wages... they should couple it back up with minimum and perhaps just drop that provision all together, then the servers could bust ass to make more on tips.

Some of the terms she used are used and understood by many Americans. Seems she was hanging out with a bunch of sheltered people. Who doesn't know flip flops=thongs or trunk=boot? The ATM thing is odd as I think the drive-through ATM is also a safety thing over having to walk out to an ATM on the side of the bank, plus the bank usually has a drive through anyhow, so it saves them money from having to build a shelter for the ATM and all that.

• I think knowledge about everything is always better (even about various ethnicities in my background); opposing data for normative reasons is never right.

• Ad hominems aren't an effective response to statistics, and I think in this case they also misunderstand; most of my interactions with African Americans are in athletic activities, where, by chance, my physical attributes are on the right side of the physical bell curve, and where people in general are nice and friendly. However, it'd be wrong to try to diminish someone's voice because of physical attributes, which are generally irrelevant in life.

Statistical differences in average crime rates between African Americans and e.g. Asians is a very reasonable statistical claim that everybody already agrees with; of course there are average differences between different groups in all manner of things. 1200% appears to be accurate.

My comment put AVERAGE in bold so that nobody would miss it. Using terms like "all black men" and references to Obama suggest you should take your advice on statistics and probability. The reason I tend to refer to Obama, Herman Cain's son, and Black Americans born in Africa is to emphasis differences in cultures and where group averages don't apply.

Sorry if it was upsetting. I know that when I feel misunderstood, it occopies time in my mind that'd I'd rather spend elsewhere. I do, though, like better knowledge achieved through multiple people's perspectives. So thanks for the discussions. Best wishes

Herman Cain on Repelling Alien Invaders

Now that Newt indicated that he is stepping out of the race today there is only Mitt and Ron Paul. Mitt will have a good fight on his hands with Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is a Constitutionalists and would be the best hope for the country. His message speaks louder than his soft spoken manner.

>> ^GenjiKilpatrick:

Hah, so what you're saying is.. The Republicans don't have a chance.
>> ^bobknight33:
Glad he is no longer running. Now if we can get rid of Democrat Mitt Romney and get a real conservative then maybe the Republican party might have a chance.

@longde

Right, the exact science is that people can't claim they know he said something in order to support a pick and choose narrative.

"It doesn't make them gang affiliated."

Right, but people will use their brains and assign a probability that if you look like you like gangs, you might be involved in illegal activity, as Trayvon was.

"That's the thing about racism: it is based solely on appearance."

Definitely... appearance including attire, body mannerisms, linguistic mannerisms, and signals of what culture they belong to.

When Chris Rock says he looks over his shoulder at the ATM at night, he's not looking out for guys who look like Obama or Herman Cain's son.

(Advice for smart people: Be proactive and design your appearance and personal culture based on what works, not on what will make life harder for you.)

It was 65 degrees that night. I've lived in florida, that is not "fucking cold" weather.

Edit: I looked at the other link, and this other expert claims Zimmerman says "fucking punks". So two enhanced sound tracks with two experts with two different conclusions. Doesn't sound like an exact science to me.>> ^chilaxe:

The audio has since been clarified, but even in the beginning the "coon" claim was speculative.

Zimmerman campaigned in the past on the side of African-Americans in his community against the local police department. For some reason that gets left out of these narratives.
Science is best left to data, which is always more interesting than evocative narratives that pick and choose.
But the point is that nobody can change that you can put any gang member or someone who thinks of themselves in that way in a gated community and you get the same results. And on the other hand, if you put Herman Cain's son (2nd from right) there, who probably doesn't have a gold grill and gang-like tattoos and doesn't like to fight, you get entirely different results.

No, you get the same result. It could be young Obama, and you get the same result. That's the thing about racism: it is based solely on appearance. Any interpretation of behavior is influenced by pre-conceived bias.

Also, stop blaming the victim! You can pull up facebook photos and youtube videos of young people of every race imitating rap stars. It doesn't make them gang affiliated.

He's not even that smart. From YT:

"The goldfish is fine, but our economy isn't. Are you Sick yet?"

Yes, yes sir, I am sick. I'm sick of giving money to save the economy, so I'm going to click the "Donate" button and give Herman Cain money to save the economy.

If you haven't seen the website yet, it's a joke. It's 1½ pages in Times New Roman.>> ^Kofi:

longde says...

@chilaxe, I never know if you are serious or trolling, but since you admire Cain so much, perhaps it would interest you to know that you would also consider his parents low class and not well educated, who worked 'cognitively simplistic' jobs:

Herman Cain was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to Lenora Davis Cain, a cleaning woman and domestic worker, and Luther Cain, Jr., who was raised on a farm and worked as a barber and janitor, as well as a chauffeur for Coca-Cola Company president Robert W. Woodruff. Cain has said that as he was growing up, his family was "poor but happy." Cain related that his mother taught him about her belief that "success was not a function of what you start out with materially, but what you start out with spiritually". His father worked three jobs to own his own home — something he achieved during Cain's childhood — and to see his two sons graduate.

Also, the uploader is obviously in the Air Force, so he must have at least graduated from high school.
