Adele Singing Rolling in the Deep on Letterman
There was a listening party on my college campus when the album dropped.
I wondered what the big deal was, I'd never heard of her before.
I like heavy metal...but I'm going to get this album.
Ruby Rocket, Private Detective
But he's quite right, the animation style is Heavy Metal inspired. The plot and style of this clip are from noir, but the animation style is a different matter. The lip movements, the drool when she sits up, those are Heavy Metal inspired bits.
Man I haven't watched that movie in years. Time to see if it's on torrent.

Does the animation style in this remind any of you of 'Heavy Metal'? They're definitely rocking the boobage.
southpark episode was inspired by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_Metal_%28film%29 where as this clip is inspired by film noir/detective comic books.

The dialog was hysterical, and the animation matched it perfectly. One of the funniest and cleverest videos I've seen in at least a week. Good stuff.
The Amazon princess had to whip a valkyrie's ass in my latest one. She doesn't care; she'll take on any mythology.

Thank you for the dp! I love this animation, it is absolutely rocking the Heavy Metal style cleavage.
Good eye, Kronos!
I'm also digging on your Roman Woman.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
Dag says that when these kinds of things are explicitly brought to my attention, I'm bound to act on them.
Sorry @rasch187. *discard.

It really just comes down to:
If we have the rule - do we keep it?
Do we enforce it?
Again, what is the point of having rules if we never have to follow them?
If the rule is arcane and outdated, then remove the rule, otherwise enforce it.
What say ye @dag
Heavy Metal

I'd love to upvote this, but I have to agree that it is not in public domain and, as Sagemind wrote, it has major legal issues associated with it. It wasn't even purchasable for 15 years while the copyright issues got sorted out.
So if we stick by the Sift Guidelines it is not siftable. Would I like having it on the sift if it was within the guidelines? Absolutely.
I'm not a lawyer so maybe someone else could answer the question at hand: would sifting copyrighted material cause problems for VideoSift or only the site actually hosting the video?
rasch187 however is a lawyer, so maybe he can allay your concerns

FRACKING 101
Also, it is within rights of a municipality to ban drilling - for example recently Pittsburgh voted to ban drilling rights within city limits. Also, at least in Allegheny county PA, homeowners don't retain the mineral rights (including drilling), so other townships can vote similar. There is a distinction between homesteads and farmsteads though, but I don't own a farm so I'm not familiar.
Personally I'm not against natural gas drilling, but I'm against the contractors who are doing it, and the corners they are cutting to save a buck. And even if you installed a Dean-Kamen-style water purifier in every home, the contaminants and heavy metals in the run-off will go to all the streams, rivers, lakes, tributaries and have a definite negative impact on the environment.
BOC:blue oyster cult-VETERAN OF THE PSYCHIC WARS
This movie short called B-11 was from the original Heavy Metal film but originaly had the music of Don Felder (Take a Ride).
"It is Based on original story by Dan O'Bannon. A World War II B-17 bomber nicknamed the "Pacific Pearl" makes a difficult bombing run with heavy damage and casualties. As the bomber limps home, the Co-Pilot goes back to check on the crew. Finding nothing but dead bodies, he notices the Loc-Nar trailing the plane. Informing the pilot, he heads back to the cockpit, when the Loc-Nar rams itself into the plane and raises the dead crew members as zombies. The co-pilot is killed by the zombie ball turret-gunner leaving only the pilot - who barely escapes in time, only to land on an island populated by zombified airmen."
The music featured here, although from the same movie was from the short: Harry Canyon featuring John Candy
