Social media videos with captions (Geek Talk Post)

It's annoying and I 100% agree. I get a headache trying to read something I'd rather watch. I get so much more from the visual details. Then again, I used text on the videos I used to make [as I taught myself how to edit] because I didn't know how to do voiceovers ... so ...

Lawyer Refuses to answer questions, gets arrested

mxxcon says...

You are talking about the cops right?
Why can't they just act normal and not try to create a situation.. just be polite. Cops that act all awkward and demand fear because they want to flex their rights in petty situations like this are just creating a headache for all involved. Save this shit for when it matters.

I Tried Medical Marijuana For My Chronic Pain

Edgeman2112 says...

But.. it didn't help? It did help? This video was confusing as hell.

The roll-on seemed to help her but that sounded like the equivalent of a menthol rub.

The charlotte's web tincture looked like it helped, but it has 0.03% THC. She smoked the flowers which only helped with headaches/migraines, but that has a higher concentration of THC wouldn't it? The entire video makes it seem like "hey great this is what we need" but at the end she sneaks in that "this is not the solution" and follows it up with a bright happy smile. Cmon now.

So, regarding your reply:

Sorry, but STOP. People die because of this stupid fucking philosophy. People also make millions off desperate folks like this lady in the video because of that mindset. 120$ for a bottle of sugary mint chocolate chip flavored water and 0.03% THC? Isn't that just diluted to no effectiveness like homeopathic tinctures? We can't use the homeopathic approach for medicine where, "oh if it doesn't work and there are no side effects than all is fine."

No, it is dangerous to think that way because many people focus ONLY on non-medical treatments. They either continue suffering or die like my dad.

Asmo said:

I doubt there are many people in the chan that wouldn't be accepting of MJ for medicine specifically, or hell, MJ for recreational use generally. But if you have anxiety about trying it out, particularly for care of a chronic treatment, consider this...

You'll test this for a few weeks of your life, and it may have shitty side effects or just not work. However, you might be living with pain for the rest of your life. Worth a shot? You bet your fucking ass!

I guess he was tired.

CBD: Marijuana Without The High

JiggaJonson says...

Why do people treat euphoria like a NEGATIVE side effect?

If I hurt my back and am bed-ridden, if I have chronic headaches, if I watched all my friends die in Iraq when I was deployed; I might be depressed about any of those things, and getting a euphoric feeling might be the only thing keeping me going.

Some people might say that being dependent on a drug for happiness is a bad thing, BUT I don't see how that's different from people who take Zoloft every single day of their lives.

p.s. Finally something I can agree w/ @bobknight33 on

p.p.s. Listening to some music after a hard day's work with some THC in my system is something I miss on a very regular basis.

As good as this game looks, I can't figure out who on earth would pay top dollar just to get teabagged by some Saudi oil baron's son who had the requisite 3 million dollars to get the best stuff..

In all seriousness though - I don't understand how the real money investment is going to be justified in terms of gameplay. If you pay top top money then you expect the game to work, be good fun, and have a big advantage over all the people who can't afford all the good stuff (AKA "pwning newbs" in the parlance of our time). But if they don't keep the newbs playing the game, the game world will be empty, no economy or trade, it'll be a dead game - who wants to keep playing a game where some pay2win kid runs circles round you all day? So how do you keep newbies interested and keep them playing, whilst also still ensuring people who paid hundreds of thousands of dollars will have their huge advantage over everyone else? How will an economy work within that system too?

I feel like it's a recipe for either a dead game, or some seriously pissed off rich people. If the rich people don't mind dropping 100k on a game, will they mind dropping 100k on suing the developers? The frankly ridiculous buy-ins may have given them some very big headaches before the game has even started, in terms of economy and relative strength of the players. Starting to get no man's sky vibes.

Dr. Gupta thinks denying Medicinal Marijuana is Immoral

poolcleaner says...

My migraines aren't in remission but I don't suffer nearly as long as I used to since using light psychoactive CBD/THC. Duration of intense pain, loss of vision, loss of feeling in limbs, nausea, vomiting, and the rare seizure has been reduced from 6-12 hours every 2-4 weeks to maybe 2 hours every couple months, sometimes only with nausea, loss of vision, and minor or no pain.

However, the loss of vision, or what my doctors have referred to as visual "premonitions" are still a major pain that I'm not certain will ever go away. Luckily I don't get very many migraines any more. However, if I do get a migraine I still cannot drive or do anything that requires sight. Although I can technically see, it's severely impaired.

The absence or dulling of the pain during a migraine is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me medically. I had a migraine 2 days ago while I was jogging at the park, ran to my car so I could quickly get home before my vision was fucked, and then placed a soluble CBD + THC tablet (Trokie) up into the corner of my mouth where it was slowly absorbed into the facial branches of my carotid artery. After my vision cleared up, I had no headache.

Keep in mind I also take a pure CBD tablet every couple days, so it's not just the one tablet during episodes.

Taking Personal Responsibility for Your Health

eric3579 says...

I have zero desire to be nit picky about these things. Im not talking about extremes or absolutes. More general guide lines. I was so much healthier when i was plant based. Life time of headaches gone. Daily stomach problems gone. Mental illness issues seemed better (depression). Although i think maybe just my willingness to make positive change could have been the reason for this. I also lost a ridiculous amount of weight as a side benefit and felt much better about myself.

Like i said im sure you can have all these things with meat and a bag of chips and a candy bar occasionally, but i personally can't. I'm very all or nothing. I suck that way.

newtboy said:

I fully agree, but I note that plant based doesn't necessarily mean absence of salt, sugar, or fat, although I admit many people think of it that way. Removing those three things, IMO, makes far more difference than what you put them on (with obvious exceptions). Salty, sugary, fatty plant based foods can be FAR worse than healthy lean meats.
It's not a cut and dry comparison, details matter, sometimes as much as the big picture.

California Cops Lose It Over a Drone

WeedandWeirdness says...

Yep, that smell was on a whole new level, and created the worst headaches. When the wind would shift, the sea breeze carried that stench to where I used to live. Made me dispise being there even more, and had blocked it out until I read this. I first saw it at night and asked if I was looking at a bunch of tall buildings, shocked that it was a refinery, had never seen one so large. I'm sure it is not healthy to live near it, I know MD Anderson conducts studies on the workers there. Thank Geezus I got out of Texas!!!

newtboy said:

That place always reminds me of Texas City (a massive oil refinery just outside Houston). It's a 5-10minute drive on the freeway through some horrendous stench. I feel terrible for anyone living within 10 miles of either place.
