Trumps Impeachment Lawyers Are Very Bad: A Closer Look

newtboy says...

If the cultist’s brains are shit, they will aquit. Look at the monkey.

Edit: Hilarious you choose an exemplar that is widely accepted as a miscarriage of justice based on a bullshit claim like “if it doesn’t fit, you must aquit.”....especially since the glove DID fit...just like the charges fit Trump. OJ stretched his hand so it wouldn’t fit, giving his jury an excuse to aquit when they knew he was guilty. Trumptards stretched their little brains to create out of thin air a trial disqualification where there clearly was none, then used that lie to excuse excusing treason, treason they admit publicly Trump committed. Since McConnel caused the trial delay then claimed the delay invalidated the trial, he’s next. Obstruction of justice is rarely that straight forward.

There were more votes to convict by his own party than in every impeachment trial combined, 7 times as many votes, even in his hyper partisan, excuse anything party. You probably think that indicates he’s the best at being impeached or something just as ridiculous.

More than enough admitted he was guilty, but they ignored the law, actually made up a law, voted on that law and lost, and excused Trump based on it anyway, voted by party to avoid being physically attacked by crazy trumptards because they’re all cowards.

Who’s your president, laughing boy? Who runs the house? Who runs the Senate? HAW HAW.

Trump has dozens of other cases to handle without council now, some criminal with no presidential protections. His troubles are just starting. Send him money, he needs it.

HA HA....dozens of civil AND CRIMINAL cases chump boy. No more protection from cultist senators. No money for lawyers. Being forced to sell his failing properties at huge discounts to pay his bills before he defaults on everything. He’s going to be the biggest loser again in 2021, his third year at least being the nation’s biggest loser. Banned from other allied countries, the first time that’s ever happened. Under criminal investigation in multiple other countries, again, a first. Trump is not “winning”, in case you’re confused. His empire of cards is crumbling just like his political clout.

Go make up more excuses and bat shit crazy paranoid fantasies. He needs them as much as he needs your money.

Edit : prepare for more Democratic victories, people are fleeing the Republican party largely because they acquitted Trump based on pure party politics...it's going to be incredibly hard to win an election when 10% leave the party and the rest split into two parties...harder than the election you just lost in a massive landslide of blue.

Oh....and I was wrong, McConnell and other Republicans did instigate the coup to hurt Trump....forget all those facts and logic I handed you and go get em boy.

Impeachment 2.0 yet another failed attempt in a long list of failures by Democrats to run Trump under the political bus.

HA HA

Next they will try civil cases of this and that.

Yes....like Texas has no standing to sue other states for how they handled the election. The idea is asinine....but I hope other states start suing Texas over, let's say, gun laws, or immigration laws. If one state can sue another because their legislatures disagree, we are going to need a new court system.

________________________________________________________________

The ones they could VERIFY!?! They didn't verify any of those claims....mainly because they weren't a bit true. Their stack of "affidavits" was a print out of claims from their hotline, all unsigned, most anonymous, and a huge percentage was trolling jokes, which they admitted in court. That's the "unsound methodology".... offering a public bribe of $1 million to anyone who could lie convincingly enough about democratic election fraud to be believed in court, then pretending every attempt at that lie was a real honest affidavit. I think they verified 4 people that voted twice using dead relatives....all republicans. In fact, every single vote fraud case since 2016 has been a republican.

No, I taped the game....I'm only interested in the commercials. Foolsball is the Devil!

A Reporter’s Footage from Inside the Capitol Siege

cloudballoon says...

No one is dismissing 75 million Americans, it is the Trump cult that's dismissing the 80+ millions' collective voice/vote by not understanding basic math, being delusional and can't handle losing an election. Snowflakes.

Ah... America. To be a Patriot is to never own up to its mistakes/actions, am I right, Bob? Just point to some Bogeymen and blame them! Besides, if the Trump cult is so cool-headed and oh so "Jenius!", why would they fall into Antifa's "incitement" ALL. THE. F-ING. TIME? Guest them Trump nuts never had much mental faculty to resist any violent persuasions to begin with huh?

Oh, please ID me ONE Antifa in the footage. If there are seditious Antifa in their midst, arrest them! It's what they deserve.

MAGA nuts have been going off all on their own without anyone's help.

When you dismiss 75 Million Americans a few are going to off.

Didn't help that ANTIFA was there as Trump supporters inciting action.

Trump Defends Sedition Speech, Support for Impeachment Grows

The mayor of New York just cut all contracts with Trump.
The multiple contracts the Trump organization has with New York city all include a clause negating the contract if any of the companies leaders commit criminal activity. Treason and sedition and inciting a riot fit that bill, so they have ended all business contracts and will hire other vendors to handle their properties.
It's pretty likely other states will follow suit.
The PGA has cut all ties.
Shopify no longer sells Trump merchandise or products like Ivanka's clothing line.
His banks, Signature and Deutsche bank have both said they will do no new business, but won't walk away from the $340 million he owes them, business loans personally guaranteed by Trump.
Sounds to me like all revenue is drying up just when $700-$1000 million in debts are coming due...Barron is going to need a job flipping burgers, he's only going to inherit debt and hatred.

If only we COULD cancel those 72 million who supported treasonous Trump and his coup. Cancel their citizenship, their government benefits, their air travel, their bank accounts, and their freedom. They are treasonous terrorists, and deserve to be treated as such.

Ah yes, law and order. Breaking laws to avoid legal inspections so they can continue breaking the law.

Dude is blaming the wrong people. Yeah, they can't stay open and he can't pay his staff. He shouldn't need to in a fucked up, once-in-a-century situation like this. The governments in other supposedly civilized countries are paying citizens so they don't NEED to work. So they can stay home and help prevent the spread of this disease. Are they handling it perfectly? Fuck no! But you can't look at the per capita death rate in this country compared to other countries and think our approach is working.

Keeping people home as much as possible and limiting opportunities for viral spread: these are are what's needed in order to get us back to some semblance of normalcy as soon as possible, with as few unnecessary deaths as possible. The federal government could make this happen, but segments of it have chosen not to. THAT is who he should be blaming, and complaining to. Mitch McConnell and his cronies in the Senate are literally killing American citizens, and businesses like this guy's, by refusing to actually help.

Next time try opening the door, closing other interior doors, and keeping your dog from standing between the animal and the exit.
I bet she's not even with it enough to get her dog treated for possible rabies after it was bitten.

She should be grateful it didn't become a woodland critter Christmas, blood orgy and all.

But all that smoke is coming from Trumpsters ears because their brains can't handle the reality that Trump is considered one of the 10 most despised and horrific people in world history by most people and seen for the failure, convict, racist, rapist, and con man he is, not the successful business man character he plays on tv.

Smoke and mirrors, lies and angry ignorance, no real evidence of anything but a few republicans cheating and the blatant voter suppression campaign by Trump found whatsoever. That's why cases are thrown out as soon as they're heard....and unsigned and uncorroborated affidavits describing complaints about the food served aren't evidence of fraud. Fake news from sore losers.
Grow up and stop listening to people you know are liars lying to your face. They're pissing in your mouth and you're thanking them for the champagne.

Bill Maher's election predictions on Jimmy Kimmel

cloudballoon says...

I think Bill's attack on the science/health experts is misguided.

Not that Bill's wrong, mind you. IF you have a good internal (immune) system you'll have a better chance of fighting it off, but

1) that's NOT a guarantee you won't get sick.
2) DOESN'T mean you won't help spread it by being all gun-ho about it, and
3) USA being what it is -- the number of over-weight, obese are just staggering -- what's the point for the health experts to say/shame people with, er, "their pre-conditions" are to blame NOW? How's that gonna help?

Besides, the health experts have been promoting healthy, active living for ages. They're not "cowards" because the people don't listen to them.

It's mind-bogging to me how narcissistic and self-centered American society is. If people just pay any attention outside of American media, they should know how to handle Covid-19.

Even Fake News (CNN) isn't buying Bidens answer

moonsammy says...

Technically correct: the Constitution does not provide specific details of how Supreme Court appointments are to be made. The fine details have been left up to the Senate and Executive (to a lesser degree, I believe). The executive branch has the right to nominate someone to the court, the Senate then has a duty to serve as a check on that. Technically there's nothing in the Constitution stating you're not allowed to advance a SC nominee weeks before an election.

It IS however, a naked partisan power grab. In 2016 one party argued, 8-9 months prior to the election, that their political opponents should not be able to have their SC nominee even get a hearing prior to the election. There was no actual precedent for this, but they insisted that the will of the electorate must be respected, and that we therefore must await the results of the election. So we did. Now 4 years later, the same party that insisted on respecting the will of the electorate in 2016 is taking precisely the opposite stance. Because last time they could potentially gain from the delay, and this time they almost certainly won't.

The CNN guy was correct: it is NOT unconstitutional to ram through a SC appointment. The authors of the Constitution didn't see fit to include that level of granularity in how the process would work. There is a process to clear this all up though: let's amend the Constitution! That's a super American thing to do! Let's establish, once and for all, the specific rules of the process. Then there won't be any back-and-forth like this about when a nominee can move ahead and when they can't. Nice and tidy.

The question then becomes: at what point in a President's term do they no longer get to nominate a replacement to the Supreme Court, when an election is pending? Should there in fact be no limit (like prior precedent, or lack thereof), and you believe that Merrick Garland should have been allowed hearings, and by extension the Amy Barrett hearings now are legit? Personally, I say we establish a cut-off to spare the political arguments in the future. Let's make it 100 days prior to the election: it's nice round number, bit over 3 months (so time for meaningful hearings and background checks), and should be after or at the end of primary season most cycles. That would of course invalidate both the 2016 and 2020 schemes by the Republicans, but I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

What's your take, Bob? How should this be handled? You posted the video, so I assume you have a stance on the issue?
