Vox: Why do taxpayers pay billions for football stadiums?

When I see things like this I always think back to the inhabitants of Easter island and how they chopped down all their trees just to see who could build the biggest fanciest stone head.

Why would you change tags to include words already in the title? Does the search function not use the title to find videos?

I used to think the same thing but a lot of people like to click on tags (something I had never really considered) so I started to put them there.

Easter Islanders depended on trees for both source of energy as well as raw materials for building boats. They were highly dependent on trade with other islands, so boats were vital to the trade. But people needed housing and heat, so they kept cutting trees down, until non was left. When the last tree was consumed, they had no means of building boats and trading with other islands. The islands were not self sustaining, so the people turned to cannibalism until the civilization was wiped away.

Thanks everyone! Now all my hard work can pay off and I can promote the hell out of the vids I like!

Oh and by the way, I was going to go to the SiftUp but I realized that I had a girlfriend and I take showers regularly so I wasn't sure if I would fit in. If people are around next year or something, I am sure this relationship will go sour like all the others and I will stop showering for lack of a compelling reason to wash my balls.

Thanks for the picture Rasch!
