Let's talk about Trump's accomplishments...

vil says...

3) Trump claimed 700 000 the actual number (before the pandemic) was 450 000, which continued the same speed of economic development that started under Obama around 2010. Net Trump loss including pandemic is about 300 k, net loss for Obama including the 2008 - 2010 recession is roughly the same.

Is that why republicans usually get <10% of the black vote?
I think they are no different from non blacks in that they can see who is working for their interests and who is working against them. You clearly don't think they are capable of that.

Republicans switched from supporting civil rights to opposing them in order to win the southern white (mostly racist) vote. You aren't ignorant of this historical fact, you simply choose to deny it like any facts you don't like. That history has been accepted for 50 years +-....are you saying I'm so good I made it up at two years old and got the nation to play along?! Damn, I'm good.

In American politics, the Southern strategy was a Republican Party electoral strategy to increase political support among white voters in the South by appealing to racism against African Americans.[1][2][3] As the civil rights movement and dismantling of Jim Crow laws in the 1950s and 1960s visibly deepened existing racial tensions in much of the Southern United States, Republican politicians such as presidential candidate Richard Nixon and Senator Barry Goldwater developed strategies that successfully contributed to the political realignment of many white, conservative voters in the South who had traditionally supported the Democratic Party rather than the Republican Party. It also helped to push the Republican Party much more to the right.[4]

I may not be the walking encyclopedias my parents were, but at least I know my own language, and my nations history.

Conservatives aren't holding blacks down. Democrat policies are.

Conservatives stand for equality for all.. Democrats slice and dice people into groups and keep them dependent on the party. Vote for us and we will help you. inner city poverty have been around 50+ years ... No help just sweet nothings.

So when you say..." 70’s when the southern strategy reversed the parties rolls, now it’s Republican’s turn to be overtly racist."

Who actually switched to being racist?

Nothing reversed.

Quit forging history. You are a party hack who know nothing. Your a tool for the left.

Nina Simone: Mississippi Goddam

Ashenkase says...

On her debut album for Philips, Nina Simone in Concert (1964), for the first time she addressed racial inequality in the United States in the song "Mississippi Goddam". This was her response to the June 12, 1963, murder of Medgar Evers and the September 15, 1963, bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, that killed four young black girls and partly blinded a fifth. She said that the song was "like throwing ten bullets back at them", becoming one of many other protest songs written by Simone. The song was released as a single, and it was boycotted in some[vague] southern states.[31][32] Promotional copies were smashed by a Carolina radio station and returned to Philips.[33] She later recalled how "Mississippi Goddam" was her "first civil rights song" and that the song came to her "in a rush of fury, hatred and determination". The song challenged the belief that race relations could change gradually and called for more immediate developments: "me and my people are just about due". It was a key moment in her path to Civil Rights activism.[34] "Old Jim Crow", on the same album, addressed the Jim Crow laws. After "Mississippi Goddam", a civil rights message was the norm in Simone's recordings and became part of her concerts.

You’re such a Trumpist tool.

Trump didn’t develop anything, and big surprise the first vaccine , Pfizer, wasn’t even developed as part of operation warp speed, trump just tries to take credit.

Distribution was 1/2 of operation warp speed, and they failed miserably, not availing themselves of opportunities to buy more vaccine, not actually setting up the distribution points or ensuring every community has sub zero storage, or even supplies like needles and alcohol wipes. They didn’t even insist on best pricing or first refusal for America, even for companies that used government funding to develop their products. Terrible deal making.

I seriously doubt it. How you gonna prove it? I guess, since Trump only had one election beforehand, he only needed one person more than 8%, so it’s possible. He sure didn’t get more than Joe.

Again, Prove it. That which can be asserted without evidence can be discarded without evidence. You have wild baseless stories from drunkards and paranoid suspicions, not evidence. Get over it, finish your sour grapes, realize that Biden got more votes than any candidate ever, and grow up. The only actual fraud found was from Republicans.

Your such a communist tool.

Developing a vaccine and producing 400 million + doses and then distributing it are different things.

Trump got more black,Latino and minority votes than any time since 1960 election. Democrats stole the election by election fraud.

I figure you have all the answers, can you explain why, when covid vaccines are in ridiculously short supply and billions of taxpayer's dollars were handed over to help speed up production of vaccines in America, why are those vaccines being sold to Europe in numbers that may dwarf the amount available to America and at 3/4 the price?
America is by far the worst per capita at controlling the virus, why are we giving away our one shot at stopping it? Why didn't we insist on every American getting the vaccine before it could be sent elsewhere? So much for America First I guess.

Secondly, are you enjoying the #walk away movement that is gaining speed with more republican politicians coming out daily to denounce their party and joining Democrats? It's just like that totally fake movement you talked about in 2018, but this time it's republicans walking away, and this time it's real people from the top down, not stock photos and faked profiles. "Destroy the gop" isn't just a white supremacists rant, it's what happened when they got in bed with Trump 4 years ago.

FreshPotix | How Dave Grohl manages coffee addiction

BSR says...

Started developing a taste for it at 16. Hung out with some buddies and we would cruise "the strip" at night in Easton PA. Northampton St. We would stop at Dunkin' Donuts and I was the only one who would drink soda out of about 5 - 6 of us. Peer pressure ya know.

So I started to develop a taste for coffee by adding lots of sugar and cream to it. I eventually worked my way down to just one creamer and no sugar.

So now I'll have at least one iced coffee with an espresso shot a day and hot coffee in the morning and later at night. Since I'm on call 24hrs a day I have no regular sleeping pattern. I also drink cold Arizona Green Tea with Ginseng and Honey. Good stuff.

Mandolorian Season 2 Trailer

BSR says...

The Outland TIE fighter was first depicted in the mobile app Star Wars: Card Trader as part of the set Illustrated Outlaws released on October 4, 2019.[4] It appears in the final two episodes of the first season of The Mandalorian, a 2019 Disney+ television series.[2][3]

The ship was originally designed by Industrial Light & Magic concept artist Doug Chiang for the 2015 film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens,[9] though it went unused in the film itself. Later, during the development of The Mandalorian, series creator Jon Favreau and his team saw Chiang's concept and decided to incorporate it into their project. To bring the vehicle to life, a physical prop of the ship was built on the show's set, whereas the TIE's folded wings were realized through computer-generated imagery.[10]

OK, since there's a bunch of experts on this thread, when did the Tie fighters first show that they had folding "wings" (solar array panels) as @ the 1:13 mark. I ain't no Star Wars expert, but this is the first time I've seen this. Help?

This is funny. Had to learn Cobol at school - lab still had a punch card machine and that was late 1980s.
Basic, obviously.
ZX Spectrum (Z80 assembly) - dissassembled and adapted a word processor for Czech - drew the extra characters and made up a printer spooler - that was the most fun with a computer ever, also I was young and had time. Also hated re-typing on a typewriter.
First thing (literally the first thing) after the iron curtain dropped got a PC and tried Pascal, databases and web-development but dropped out of all that in early 90s.
Doom, Quake, Civ, Sim City. Mostly scripts with some disassembly and poking around. Various scripts are the only programming I do now.

Tesla China - Shanghai Gigafactory production line

wtfcaniuse says...

You're assuming the people calling you out on your BS are liberals. That is one of your mistakes.

I was trying to be nice. I actually appreciate you contributing something for once.

Tesla is not leading the EV market today and they will not be leading it in ten years. The biggest EV market is China and Tesla makes up maybe 1/5th. China and India are the biggest emerging EV markets and both have locally developed EVs.

Telsa is not 5 years ahead of Panasonic, LG, BYD, et al. The breakthroughs are coming from labs you've never heard of.

Don't put all your stocks in the one EV basket. As Stukafox mentioned Hydrogen is the future. Current EV's are a stopgap.

How One Gameplay Decision Changed Diablo Forever

fuzzyundies says...

Early in development, Diablo was turn-based, like many RPGs and Rogue-likes before it. Then Blizzard South (the Warcraft team) pushed hard on Dave and the Blizzard North team to try out real-time combat instead of turn-based.

Dave didn't want to, but his team took a vote and Dave lost handily. He was surprised when it only took a weekend to rough out real-time combat and stunned when he realized how fun it was. A new genre was born.

Deaths Comparison: Covid19 vs Malaria vs Influenza and Other

drradon says...

this is quite interesting data and provides sobering perspective on the lives routinely lost due to malaria and malnutrition that go on year after year with little notice from the developed world whereas, because COVID-19 is attacking the developed world somewhat more broadly than just the under developed world, it brings our (developed world) economy to a virtual standstill.

BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC Official Teaser Trailer #1 (2020)

LukinStone says...

Cool. This has been in development for a while, at least, I heard about the script years ago. I think the two previous movies were both interesting. And, the sequel really did a good job of not rehashing the same ground as Excellent Adventure. We'll see, like anything nowadays, may suck hard but I'll give it a chance.

Police fire (paintball?) at residents on their front porch

For these to be called even less lethal, the entire system must be used, including MANDITORY safety gear including at a minimum Kevlar helmets, face shields, groin shields, and a neck protector. If the victim doesn't have each piece of the mandatory gear, these rounds can cause permanent injury and death.

Directly from the manufacturer of simunition.

In order to reduce the risk of injury during these highly dynamic scenarios, Simunition® has developed a full line of protective equipment for both men and women. This equipment is an integral part of the FX® training system.
The FX® line of protective equipment consists of three MANDATORY protective items: the helmet or the facemask for use with Kevlar helmets, the neck protector and the groin protector. The arm protectors, vest, gloves, pants and sleeves are optional. FX® protective equipment, which is Simunition® tested and approved, is comfortable, breathable and lightweight, allowing the user to move freely and naturally.

Another *doublepromote to keep it front and center, police in gangs fully armored with military backing are using live rounds (yes, they are) on unarmed unshielded citizens who are committing no crime peacefully stationary on their own porches. Might as well have been bullets, at that range with no protection these rounds can kill easily. Attempted murder charges for every cop there.
I can't wait until someone shoots a cop in the eye with one and it dies. Suddenly they won't be calling them non lethal ammunition that's safe.
