Philadelphia Soul Flex Cam - Flexing Surprise!
When you've been around the sift as long as I have your bs detector becomes more focused....like a sixth sense
Apparently it was staged. According to NBC the guy is a fitness trainer and the woman is his fiance.
Aussie gold digger strikes gold, goes nuts over huge nugget
It it just me or does he seem to be comically bad at digging where the metal detector is telling him to dig??
Don't break up with fossil fuels
And she's turning up the thermostat in your house to the point where your carbon monoxide detectors are singing.
Eh...just take the batteries out of that thing. Just ignore it. You'll be fine, I'm sure.
Shootout in Parliament Building
Turns out the officer who took the shooter out was a retired RCMP officer employed in the largely ceremonial role of Sergeant-At-Arms. A role I was surprised to find out was armed.
I don't have any real objections to him being armed, but S-A-A is more-or-less a glorified security guard. The only weapon you see him with is a bad-ass looking mace. In the US, the S-A-A is the guy you see announcing the arrival of the President in the House of Representatives before the State of the Union addresses. You can imagine how much security the shooter would have had to passed to get the same place in D.C.
Some of the questions right now are about how the fuck the guy got to the doors where Parliament sits largely unopposed. I mean, it's Canada, the last attack on a Prime Minister consisted of a pie to the face, but you'd think there'd be a metal detector checkpoint and/or a couple Mounties milling about.
Then again, unauthorized crossings at our shared border -up until 9/11- were protected mostly by traffic cones.
Why you should get a flu shot
Flu-shots, more like pussy detectors.
Should drug-sniffing dogs be discredited
We need to support those scientists who are trying to create a synthetic dog nose. That way there's no training, there's a device that has a read out of molecules it actually detected (when properly used and maintained).
Dogs want to please the master, and can easily tell the master is pleased when they 'alert', giving total incentive for them to false 'alert' so dad is happy (and dad gets happy and dog gets reward BEFORE the alert is verified, reinforcing the bad 'alerts' along with the good).
Dogs' 'alerts' should NEVER be allowed in court, they're far worse than lie detectors.

Doctor Disobeys Gun Free Zone -- Saves Lives Because of It
Wow, you certainly don't write like it.
Because you seem to have trouble understanding him, I'll explain.
The anecdote is the singular story of an illegally armed man that actually didn't stop another man with a gun being used as 'proof' that more guns make us more safe.
The data of gun violence per capita vs percentage of gun ownership says the opposite.
And to your point about the 'gun free zones', they were created because mass murders had repeatedly already happened in these places, not before. EDIT: You seem to imply that they CAUSE mass murders...that's simply not true, they are BECAUSE of mass murders. If they enforced them, they would likely work, but you need a lot of metal detectors. I don't have the data of attacks in these places in a 'before the law vs after the law' form to verify 'gun free zones' work, but I would note any statistics about it MUST include the overall rate of increase in gun violence to have any meaning, as in 'a percentage of all shootings that happened in 'gun free zones' vs all those that happened everywhere', otherwise it's statistically completely meaningless.
When I earned a doctorate, I co-taught several graduate level classes on research in the social sciences, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research design. What difference between anecdotes and data, specifically, are you referring to? What specific anecdote and what data specifically? How do you know?
1.5M Balloons Released At Once Looks Like Alien Ship Attack
I hope noone does this shit ever again.
Helium is a finite resource, and its getting rare.
We need it for things like medical scanning machines, particle colliders, nuclear detectors....my god what a waste.

David Hahn: Nuclear Boy Scout
⛺ Right?! Tell yer kids if they tear open smoke detectors and gun sites they'll get meth-face like a wanted criminal!
David Hahn: Nuclear Boy Scout
And here's more info on him. It sounds like he's a really bright individual who society completely failed to position for success.
After dropping out of community college, Hahn joined the Navy, assigned to the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise as an undesignated seaman.
Hahn had hoped to pursue a nuclear specialist career. EPA scientists believe that Hahn may have exceeded the lifetime dosage for thorium exposure, but he refused their recommendation that he be examined at the Enrico Fermi Nuclear Generating Station.
And then a sad bit:
On August 1, 2007, Hahn was arrested in Clinton Township, Michigan for larceny, in relation to a matter involving several smoke detectors, allegedly removed from the halls of his apartment building. His intention was to obtain americium, a radioactive substance, from the detectors. In his mug shot, his face is covered with sores which investigators claim are possibly from exposure to radioactive materials
Finally: fer christ's sake, son! what the hell happened to you!
