How to Make Drums from ICE

Christopher Hitchens drops the Hammer

shinyblurry says...

Anyone who thinks they have figured it out hasn't thought about it too deeply. That which is seen is a poor reflection of that which is unseen.

If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Bush lawyer dismantles Fox argument against gay equality

over and over and over and over and over, like a monkey with a miniature cymbal.

Like libs with their "Tax cuts for the rich", and "IT BE RACISM!!" And let's not forget "It's all Bush's fault," when the past 20-something months it's Barack Keynes' fault.

Pat Boone-ski
undead
Disney-animatronic
one of the Thunderbird puppets.
Mr. Bean
funky cymbal banging monkey hairdo
"I'm not only the Soviet Hair Club for Men commissar, I'm also a client."
After the single LaLaloW failed in the charts he went back to designing ventriloquist dummies based on his own likeness
and my favorite, He obviously forgot the lyrics but I have to give him props for faking it all the way through........

How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Loudness War

MaxWilder says...

Maybe you could explain to us who don't really understand, what's the big deal? It sounded like the drums and cymbals were clearer on the GH version. What's wrong with a slightly different mix?

blown away by the beatles in MONO

rottenseed says...

Their explanation that "because they recorded in mono, that's how it should be listened to" is bullshit. Everybody knows you record in mono and level in post production. The only good reason to record in stereo would be if you don't have individual mic's/inputs hooked up. Maybe like drums should be recorded in stereo, but that's 'bout it. Your best set up is to mic every single instrument, drum, cymbal, guitar, vocal, etc. on a mono channel and create the mix using that.

it really is disappointing and even sad that the Christian ethos is love and yet you rarely see that from the church today. Ironic isnt it? The greatest adversary of Christianity is Christians. Something I strive to reconcile everyday.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Will Rock Band Drums Teach You Real World Drumming?

JAPR says...

You can learn to play drums from practicing on Rock Band, to an extent. What you CAN learn is how to coordinate your two hands and one of your feet, which allows you to play simple backbeats. What you won't learn is hi-hat pedal usage, the difference between a ride cymbal and a crash cymbal (not to mention when to use them), and how to control your volume and tone with the drums.

So yes, you CAN learn to play a little bit of drums from Rock Band, but it doesn't translate over to anything close to a performance level.

DrumMania drums, on the other hand...

That said, this is obviously staged/edited/he's played drums before.
