Forest Swords - Crow
Cool sound. The slow zoom totally drew me in.
Incredible live remix of 153 songs
looks cool, sounds like shit.
Sydney Sift Up Pics (Sift Talk Post)

What a Sword Really Sounds Like Being Removed from a Sheath
My problem with movie guns is the "hand cannon" sound. Like in all the Dirty Harry movies. Every pistol shot seems to sound like a 50cal Barrett sniper rifle in a sewer pipe.
As cool sounding as it is wrong.
And it's not just pointy sticks, but boom sticks too; notice how many times pistols, shotguns and ARs are loudly and dramatically "chick-chicked"? My favourite is when they do it several times (most often with a pistol or shotgun) before firing a single shot. Nice job spreading your rounds on the floor.
Sewing Needle Sparkler
Why mommy can't sew!

Here's a pyro-aside this reminded me of:
U will Need:
paperclip
flint
butane lighter
bend paper-clip in such a manner as to hold flint in-place
with lighter, heat flint while holding the end of the paperclip far enough away from finger to avoid heat transfer-(flint will glow and swell twice it's size, at this point...)
Throw glowing flint & paperclip combination at hard surface, concrete, brick wall, etc.
Super explody white-sparkler-action, and really cool sound
There should be a name for this...

Bill Maher ~ Why Liberals Don't Like Bachmann & Palin
@shinyblurry
Hello my friend, I see the scent of evil godlessness has brought you crusading back with the heavy-handed Truth of the Word! I admire the courageous way you tackle the arguments of three sifters at once, all the while politely avoiding calling @bareboards2, @ChaosEngine and myself by our @tagnames, lest you disturb us to the point that we might be drawn to read your comment and respond.
It is wise of you to remind us that the Bible was written by Christians and not those gnasty gnostics, whoever they may be. The Bible was inspired by God Himself, and only Christians wrote it, including those parts written long before Christianity existed! And don't let the "moderates" talk about compilation, the councils of Nicaea, Rome, Trent, etc. No! God Himself chose which books would be considered canon, not a bunch of pops, popes and romans. And don't let Iranaeus, granddiscipleson of John the Evangelist, tell you that the reason there had to be four gospels - other than for the cool sounding name that is "Tetramorph" - was because
"there are four quarters of the earth in which we live, and four universal winds, while the church is scattered throughout all the world, and the 'pillar and ground' of the church is the gospel and the spirit of life, it is fitting that she should have four pillars breathing out immortality on every side, and vivifying men afresh….Therefore the gospels are in accord with these things…For the living creatures are quadriform and the gospel is quadriform…These things being so, all who destroy the form of the gospel are vain, unlearned, and also audacious; those (I mean) who represent the aspects of the gospel as being either more in number than as aforesaid, or, on the other hand, fewer".
That guy was probably high on burning bush or something.
As for me, I humbly thank you for bringing me back into the realm of honesty about my own life and knowledge. Please continue to spread
yourGod's wisdom and love on the Sift, as you can tell we really need your God's dictatorial stick and carrot (but mostly the stick, i.e. you) to put us on the straight and narrow.yours sincerely,
...@hpqp
p.s.: You are right about the Bible not being misogynist in the least, but you don't go far enough. Here's an example (among many) that you can use next time, showing that in the Bible females actually get preferential treatment, here at the merciful hands of the author of Genesis (Numbers 31:17-18):
Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

Resonance- VERY well produced, VERY trippy sights and sounds
This informed me why I tend to hate modern action movies: the sound doesn't match what I'm seeing. It's some cool sounds, but they don't enhance the experience of watching. Far too many inappropriate "texture" sounds, like especially slime and liquid sounds where there's nothing on the screen that even suggests either. The only ones that had a solid match of visual and sound were the ones that started at 2:50, 5:42, 6:13 and 9:33. Special props to the sound in 6:13 for letting it enhance the visuals, rather than trying to make it a "bag of tricks" show like most of the other sound effects based ones.
Pomplamoose covers Lady Gaga
>> ^volumptuous:
blech
If Lada Gaga isn't bad enough, now we have this. I know there's lots of fans here, and the band also parouses the sift and I hate to be mean to them, but holy hell this stuff is crazily boring to me.
I like them, but I know what you mean. Their reharmonized arrangements of banal pop tracks are clever and pithy, but at the end of the day, it's still a banal track at its core, and not the kind of thing I need to hear more than once. They could also stand to expand their orchestrational palette a bit too. Bust out that theremin. Get away from the drumset and bang on some household appliances. You don't need to have toy glock and toy piano on everything you do, the more you use them the less special those cool sounds become. There is a fine line between having a distinct stylized sound and having everything sound the same.
Sorry for the unsolicited advice if you are reading this Pomplamouse - as you are obviously very talented and have a huge fanase that loves you just as you are - but armchair criticism is the whole point of the internet, isn't it?
