DON'T WATCH ANIME CALLED BOKU

Sagemind says...

Boku no Pico (ぼくのぴこ, Boku no Piko?, lit. My Pico) is a Japanese series of pornographic anime OVAs produced by Natural High, aimed at a male audience. The producer has described it as the first shotacon anime.[1] The series consists of three episodes, as well as a one-shot manga chapter, an upcoming computer game and a video compilation of songs. Because of the high cost of producing anime, the characters and contents were intensively product-tested before production began.[1]

I really wish people would just get back into the original Quake. Not many people play it online but I still think the multiplayer game mechanics as well as the blocky, dark, graphics are better than nearly all multiplayer games to this day. I've been playing it here and there the past couple of weeks but it's usually only a couple of people from Europe.

I definitely enjoy the old arcadey shooters more than the pseudo-realistic shooters that are everywhere now, but I no longer have the reflexes required to kick ass at them.

Me too. I replayed some old games and ugh I suck in them. LOL! I don't play new computer games anymore, even demos nad betas (very rare) due to lack of free times and motivations. I do play Flash games as you can see on AQFL.net.

It's a guy giving significant video review/coverage of every single famicom released, in chronological order. After 39 episodes averaging an hour in length he's just gotten through December 1988.
It's on Youtube now but the first couple dozen episodes are only on archive.org.

Great series, this. Ant, you seem pretty into this shit. You watch Chrontendo?

Nope, where is that? I just like watching video and computer game documentaries even if I am not into those game series.

Cool! http://chrontendo.blogspot.com ... Hey, you should submit the videos to VS. I didn't have Nintendo when I was young so I wasn't into their games.

CANVAS - Amazing Half Life 2 Mod

ForgedReality says...

Sorry I have to be the dissenting voice here, but this doesn't really look particularly amazing to me. There is little-to-no substance here. Just pretty effects. It's the Half-Life 2 engine, not some revolution in computer gaming. ALL of the effects are done in post. NONE of what actually looks GOOD is real-time.

If this is a real mod and if it ever gets released, it won't look anything like this, I'm sorry to say. To me, this looks more like an art piece built with the help of Half-Life 2, not an attempt to make a revolutionary interactive experience.

90% of what is in this video can't be done in that engine. Look closer at the effects, and tell me they still look convincingly real-time to you. View fullscreen at 720p, and you'll likely be able to pick it apart as I already have in my own head.

That said, the video itself is really cool. However, I guarantee you will be disappointed if you expect a mod on the HL2 engine to look that good.

Having just watched YMO - Computer Game, and being compelled to upvote even though it's from the 80s it occurs to me that you might like this one:

I wasn't even going to watch this until I saw the "DAMN NATURE..." description. Also, the sound effects remind me of an early 90s computer game, which is always worth a chuckle.

LOL , image says HORSE POWER ! lol

~This is how pritty much all education should be done ( not with horses ) but Everything should be fun if you want kids to learn then you need to make things fun instead of boring to fuck. Annything can be fun and u can evan tie uterly boring repetative to fuck anoying shit to things that make them fun, for example most computer games have stupendously shit and frustraiting game play but by using story or graphics and rewards cleverly you can turn it into entertainment.

Some old news...reanimated. (Sift Talk Post)

Is Videosift a finished "project" that has been completed and is now only on display?

I thought websites evolved, especially one with such active forum members as this. The sift has as always seemed to welcome feedback about improvements. Your downvote really surprises me.
Why did you not downvote each of these ideas as they were posted? Why do I get your downvote even though I simply reposted them?

So, by your thinking...ideas, improvements and upgrades are not to be discussed, tolerated or considered on Videosift...else you get a downvote for even suggesting (or reposting) such a thing?

As for your analogy of a Lego house it is a good one, but in a different way than you meant. Legos are designed to be taken apart, reconstructed, changed, or improved. That's what you as the builder are there to do, or you wouldn't have bought a Lego house in the first place. No Lego house stays in the one design you started with (much like websites, phones, computer games, etc.) or it would be pretty boring, static and unproductive.

As an unemployed engineer, did you feel you completed everything with such perfection that improvements are never needed and therefore suggestions should be hated?

I'm sure Steve Jobs would love to hire you, as he must be exhausted with all of his needless upgrading and improving by now.

As a unemployed engineer, i hate adding features at the end of a project. Consider this a downvote.

Its so weird running into someone else who plays League too, I tell people I play videogames all the time and they always think that's going to be a good conversation piece but it ends up sounding something like they'll start clambering on about God of War or Grand Theft Auto, and I meekly say "Uhh ever heard of League of Legends?" no "Vindictus?" no "Battlefield Bad Company?" Ehhh I've heard of it "COD Black ops?" OH YEAH I ROCK AT THAT ON 360!!! Oh ...PC? Like a computer game???

But yeah I'd love to find some fresh blood to play with, my usual crowd has turned into rageaholics. Drop me vent info in sift post or just friend me on LoL, same screen name: Jiggajonson

Except for the fact that she calls them "first shoot 'em up games" right at the end!

To be fair, she says she's no good at them, so if she gets the nomenclature wrong you have to... DUDE MILA FREAKING KUNIS ACTUALLY PLAYS COMPUTER GAMES YOU'VE HEARD OF!! LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS A BIT!!

You make an excellent point, sir! I tip my hat to you. Jimmy Kimmel is still a bit of an ass though (and hopefully I won't be made to eat my words on that statement).
