I'm always curious about the 'free energy' claim.
Even if it's not expensive, it won't be 'free', and if it is so perfect that it's free, what happens to the millions that work in the energy field today? I'm not suggesting that issue is in any way a reason to not go forward, just that it's an issue that must be dealt with in the eventuality that 'free' energy becomes reality.
They should hype it as possible 'cheap, efficient, clean energy', never 'free', imo.

Are there any reactors trying to use both methods....magnetic confinement/compression and laser compression combined? It seems like they could use much less powerful (and less power consuming) compression/heating devices if they used both together.

Youtube's video compression is overly-aggressive for my tastes. As someone who enjoys watching and uploading videos with a lot going on in them, it sucks to see Youtube eat those kinds of videos alive.

It's not IN a vacuum. the pressure is just very low, like a high-altitude jet airliner. The skis the pod runs on aren't even electromagnetic, they use micro jets of compressed air, like an air-hockey table.

As for Thunderfoot, I get he likes debunking things like those retarded snake-oil "smart pavement" people. However, saying Musk is one of them is ignoring what Elon's already accomplished. I can GUARANTEE Elon Musk has dumped more money than Thunderfoot will make in his lifetime in engineers and pure scientists just to see if it was FEASIBLE, let alone possible.

To be clear, the situation appears to be as follows:

The police get a call about a person that may be mental wielding a gun.

Multiple police arrive on scene, where they find a black male and hispanic male.

The hispanic male is clutching something.

The extremely lucid and reasonable sounding black male identifies himself as a caregiver for the hispanic male, clarifies that the hispanic male is autistic, and that the item the hispanic male is carrying is a toy truck.

The black male does all of this, as well as trying to de-escalate the situation, while laying prone on his back with his hands in the air.

The police move in, at some point the black male is shot in the leg.

The police have full control of the situation, both parties are handcuffed.

Medical aid is not provided to the black male for more than 15 minutes. Not even an attempt by an officer to staunch the blood flow.

When the black male asks the officer why he was shot, the officer supposedly responds, "I don't know."

Now, let's examine this closely.

A gunshot wound to the leg could easily have nicked the femoral artery. I doubt the officers were trained to identify this. You can bleed out from seconds to minutes after your femoral artery gets damaged. A reasonable person might take off their shirt and compress the wound or use a belt as a tourniquet.

Before we consider that, really, we should look at one factor. If you choose to be a fireman, a policeman, or be in any other dangerous job, you need to be prepared to face actual danger. Being so scared that you might somehow, maybe, possibly get hurt that you proceed to jumpscare shoot someone who is fucking prone, is not being willing to face danger. It means someone joined the force to be 'better' than the rest of us plebes and not to face an iota of danger.

Also, if it was a white male, laying on his back and doing the same thing, do we expect him to be shot? The likely answer is no. I can't even believe that this was a likely shooting situation. At first, I suspected it might have been one shot that was accidentally discharged. That, while not acceptable, would have been plausible due to nerves. Three shots means three separate trigger pulls, that speaks to intent to shoot.

Luckily this man is going to live. He will likely sue and get a good chunk of money. If he had died, blood would have likely ran in the streets in Florida because one cop got scared that he 'might' be in danger. As far as that cop? He might lose his job briefly. Cop unions will do their best to get him back his job and will likely succeed. Let's be real about the possible ramifications of him going before a grand jury though. Even if he does, he will walk because the prosecutor will throw the case.

"Lossy compression"?

Actually, I think the 2014 show was entirely new stuff compared to the one that I saw first. It is hard for me to call which time was better -- I saw them first (with the twinkie bit) when I was like 17 or so, and then again in my 30's.

I was really entertained by the twinkie bit -- memorable enough that that was probably my overall favorite non-musical bit of either performance I saw. But overall I think the later show might have been even better. And like I said, I don't remember any rehashed material between the two, but the time span between them makes me not 100% sure about that.

The teleprompter text warmup stuff -- sarcasm and jokey stuff -- was really good in both shows also. With regards to songs, Rods and Cones is probably my single favorite of theirs. The giant drum that is below human hearing range but physically compresses your chest was featured in that early show, from the "Audio" album era. That wasn't used in the newer show, and it added something to the live show even though you can't actually "hear" it so much as "feel" it. But obviously home stereos can't reproduce that, and there are a lot of good songs from the newer albums / shows also.

Good thoughts, but all that gear makes it much harder to bend and flex without resistance and compression which is the whole point.
Also, the cold causes uncontrollable muscle contraction, making it all more difficult in another way.
I just need to move to Hawaii where shorts are fine in winter. ;-)

The YouTube bitrate for live encoding is published on the google support page titled Live encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions

The normal encoder is likely to use better compression to reduce the bitrate while maintaining similar quality (in theory anyway) at the cost of not being realtime (after you upload a vid it takes a while before the encoding is finished and all resolutions are available).

According to http://blog.waterworld.com.hk/post/hd-quality-youtube-vs-vimeo the normal youtube encoder is limited to 3Mbps for 720p, but Vimeo is limited to 10Mbps (similar to a DVD).

What the higher bitrate means depends on how fast your internet connection is. If your connection speed is between 3Mbps and 10Mbps then this means that yt 720 will play without buffering, but Vimeo will stop. If your connection is 10Mbps or higher then the higher bitrate means nicer looking video with less compression artefacts.

YT is actually limited to 8Mbps for 1080p so for certain videos, with lots of motion for instance, the Vimeo 720p would be higher quality than YT 1080p.

I think it's high gain on a microphone distorted by compression effects. A computer's version of ear ringing.

I understand that but people are very bad at doing chest compressions and often because they are too gentle - which this video re-affirms. if it was a few years ago since you did your course this advert might make you worse at your technique.
These events don't time themselves 2 weeks after you had a CPR refresher course.

In the UK, rescue breaths are used for paediatric (1yrs-puberty). And drowning is a 'special circumstance' whereby Cardiac arrest is almost always secondary to hypoxia there rescue breaths increase survival over 'hands only' CPR,

So not a good example in this video. However saying that any *decent* attempt at chest compression only is going to help someone who is not breathing so not to be discouraged.

good message but it was all wrong. In children you start with a rescue breath and then chest compressions. The compressions shown here were too slow and no where near deep enough to generate circulation and it's not useful to give such a gentle image as it might stop people giving proper compressions in future.

In reality it's vigorous and its not unusual to get rib fractures as a result.
