I've read that Murray hated, HATED, filming the movie, so it might have actually seemed longer than that to the actor.

That being said, I think the author of this piece drastically overstated the times by doubling many days and assuming our reporter buddy needed to become an "expert" in all things. He spoke a phrase in french doesn't mean he is an expert in French. He knows some pieces on a piano doesn't mean he's an expert in all piano. And he could have taken a few hours of lessons and then grabbed the chainsaw to practice cutting the ice sculpture.

I'd say fail all round. Using a short bar chainsaw like that is a recipe for serious injury. You should never bury the tip of the chainsaw in a tree like that.

This is why we need more concealed chainsaw permits. The criminal tree element of our society would be a lot more reluctanct to attack good law abiding citizens if those citizens were armed with chainsaws. If you take away chainsaws from law abiding Americans, only trees will have chains...errr...a law abiding citizen with a chainsaw could have prevented this tree from fall....um...

No kickback protector, no guard to keep the chain on the sproket, no spikes to grab jumped chain, no clutch to prevent stuck chain from tearing the motor out of the housing....oh and the lack of bar oil.

Or you could just buy a real chainsaw and loose the powercord.
