Zeppelin Cover-Ween-All of My Love

shuac says...

>> ^Ryjkyj:

Saw them in Bend, OR last month. Even after the crazy shit in Vancouver they still play a kick-ass show.

I haven't seen them in a while but I've been to so many shows in the 90s & 00s that I've lost count. This one's from their Live in Chicago DVD of 2004 and it's nice to see Claude (the drummer) banging it out like nothing happened. He was in a HUGE car wreck in 2002 and he almost died, poor bugger.

Fat out-of-shape cop can't catch fleeing suspect on foot.

Lawdeedaw says...

longde; I showed you when I was being patronizing, in the comments about Couey. No other comments are patronizing. I cannot help if some points are stated bluntly.

As far as the "pro-cop bias"--stop assuming just because I question you beliefs. Here is an example of how I think in ALL matters--not just about cops.

I personally am atheist and think belief in a higher power is kind of sad (Like a fat woman eating a whole tub of ice cream.) Most religious people act horribly towards atheists like myself. However, I give religious people the benefit of doubt. I am not pro-religious... Just like I am not pro-cop. Pro-cops make excuses for violence, pro-religious makes excuses for belligerent a-holes, I DO NOT, EVER! However, I tell you what I try to be--non-judgmental.

The answer to my statistics isn't worth the time. Let's just say that you were the one who said he knew about cop beatings in his community, and I have yet to get your number.

Lastly, "setting the bar low." Oh grow the fuck up (I have to patronize to the hyperbole you use here.) Cops are humans, and they sometimes are horrible sacks of shit. See, I agree one case of abuse is too much, and your statement implies that I do not. Also too much; is one car wreck, one cancer case, one still-born and one mental retardation, one electrocution, one accidental drowning or shooting, the list goes on and on to infinity. Yes--all of those are bad, and all of those are going to happen. But to classify, for example, heart-attacks, something that happens quite often (about 1 million a year,) as close to cop beatings, that's insane hyperbole. All I ask is that you use the proper adjectives, instead of lumping the same words together
for the shake of shock-and-awe, or whatever reason you are doing it.

I do appreciate the fact that you have not said, "Well, I have a life and gotta go!" So many pricks do... So thank you for still pointing out your beliefs and not resorting to being a child.

>> ^longde:

Yes, you are patronizing; it oozes out of your posts. No, you don't know what you're talking about.
The correct answer is that there is not enough data to prove one way or another. Even the organization in the link you provided admit the severe limitations of their technique, which primarily relies on media reports. Your obvious pro-cop bias (nothing wrong with that, but at least admit it) leads you to think that the very scant data supports your point.
Even your back-of-the-envelope calculation show your bias. And do you really think that 54 cases of brutality in a year is so insignificant? Probably because you think you or your loved ones will never be on the wrong end of a stick. 54 is quite alot for one city. Hell, one is too many, to be frank. Setting a low bar for our officers is not helping them.

Mentally Challenged Man Beaten to Death

joedirt says...

You fucking hypocrites.

This is the definition of a snuff film. They filmed the murder of a 'homeless' man (stomping his throat, in addition to other injuries). The whole event was for sport and using someone who wouldn't be missed.

They filmed the blood trail.

It sat underground for decades probably as a snuff film.

How the fuck is this allowed? But you have issues with a car wreck video.
He was dead by the time he hit the back door with that broken trachea.

Billy Mays - The Resurrectifier

Duckman33 says...

>> ^BoneRemake:
thats really low of that show. I would down vote that if I could.
Too soon doesnt even explain it, its just in bad taste.

If I didn't post it, someone else would have. Sorry I like Billy Mays and the Pitchmen show, but this shit is funny, and well done. The dog at the end was what made me post it anyway. It made me LOL.

Besides, if you didn't think it was tasteful, then why did you watch it? Kinda like a car wreck on the freeway, you can't help but look.

CNN: South Florida's Pain Clinics Or Narcotic Pill Mills?

enoch says...

very awesome of you revted,
and thanks for making some clarifications and also adding a personal touch concerning your practice.
my family is in the medical field and they have stated similar dilemma's as you have here.on one side you have responsible doctors such as yourself and on the other you have inscrutable practitioners who are just there for the quick cash.
instead of going through a whole diatribe on addiction let me just state a quick anecdote.
a former student of mine, bright and quick-witted,a stellar student heading to graduate school.in one year she was in two car wrecks and damaged her back something awful.she was over-prescribed pain meds and within a few months this brilliant young woman went from a casual pot smoker to a pill head.here is the tragic part:she never realized until too late.she was taking her meds as prescribed but when the insurance ran out she found herself host to a myriad of problems that she could not understand i.e:fever, nausea, cold sweats, horrific nightmares, insomnia and her back was worse than ever.not understanding withdrawal symptoms from pain meds she bought off the street some painkillers and LO and BEHOLD..she felt better.

sadly it was i who informed her that she may be an addict and in her rage and disgust at me for even suggesting such tripe has discontinued our friendship, leaving me impotent to offer any assistance at all.now my dear friend, with her infant daughter, has a full time job of aquiring pills everyday just so that she can feel normal.graduate school....a memory.car....sold.boyfriend...left.
i worry about her very, very much and pray for every day but until she is ready to face what she has to there is naught i can do.
what many people do not realize is that coming clean from narcotics is one the most incredibly hard things to do.it is a body addiction and if you try to stop cold turkey your body makes you pay..in spades.

i cannot relay just how personal this is to me.i have a young woman in my home right now who i am helping detox because the local drug rehabilitation center will not accept her(her fault)and she has no money, lost her kids, her business and ..well..everything.my success with her is not written in stone, but i have had success in these cases.

on a side note.
i give you incredible credit reverendted.the fact the you are aware of the dangers and hence your responsibility speaks volumes to your character.the only consolation i can offer concerning those that abuse the system due to their addiction is that you have no control over that.your patients are lucky to have such a doctor as you.
i salute you my friend.

Truck runs red light, guess what comes next.

ReverendTed says...

>> ^dracoirs:
There is definitely a person flying out of the bed of the truck.

While it's possible that's a person in a white shirt and dark blue jeans, I'm not entirely convinced.

Can anyone identify the icons in the lower right? After a little searching, I was able to find them on a few similar videos (traffic accidents mostly), but I haven't been able to figure out the source.

Edit: A post on Break indicates that this is 7th and Northern in Phoenix, AZ. Google Street View confirms this. That might facilitate a search for news on this accident.

Apparently, this is not the only time someone has "sailed through the red light" and crashed at this intersection.

Ah, finally. Here's a story on this particular accident. "Two sent to the hospital," at the time of reporting.

Let me put it another way. Abstinence is like saying the best way to avoid from getting injured in a car wreck is to not drive or ride in a car.

As opposed to other methods of sex education which would be like saying, if you’re going to drive a car wear a seat belt, learn to drive defensively, make sure your vehicle is road safe, don’t drive under the influence, only ride with people you know are good drivers etc etc.

If you only teach a person not to drive, and not how to drive safely if they do decide to drive what sort of position do you leave them in? Isn’t the teacher responsible for giving the best information available? Does that not make the teacher in some way responsible if they insist that not driving is the only thing that should be taught in order to avoid getting in a car accident, or a hypocrite if time after time people in ‘don’t drive’ driver’s education keep getting into car accidents? So yeah, the person driving is responsible, but so is the dumbass who’s best solution for driver’s education was to not drive.
