Well, I get virtually all my videos from videosift these days, so I don't tend to contribute. At least I'm posting comments again though now and then, for better or worse! You go ahead, I don't mind!

There was a whole series of these commercials several years ago, with Bruce Lee, Frank Sinatra, Sylvester Stallone, James Brown, etc. I was happy to see them reprised, and I thought this one was pretty decent (obviously, or I wouldn't have posted it).

you pricked everyone by chasing the next level up. You made less people laugh by seconding a dupe without giving it time of exposure. Thats that. whatever gets ya to the next level though !

I agree with this. We shouldn't be afraid to ban people, but we can also exercise judgement on what's best for the Sift and show mercy. So both of you are right - in the end, no harm done as I've reinstated, and he/she got the message.

I see them more as guidelines then rules. I try and make decisions based on what's in the sifts best interest.
This person wanted to be a legitimate member, as could be seen by the message they left. The rules are not black and white. Anyway it's not that big a deal. I just wanted to let you know that you can use your own discretion when it comes to the rules.

Did you finish the bathroom. I wanted to check out the picks.

@shinyblurry it matters because if it is allowed, then we open up the doors to spammers, so it's an effort to make the law equal for all users. In any case, you admitted you were at fault, but the reason was ignorance, not malice. I say, reinstate shinyblurry and this will be his slap on the wrist.
The point of this site is video sharing, not video creating. If you make something yourself, you are free to link it certain places, but you are not allowed to "sift" it. It's one of the very basic rules of the site, which I do believe is also highlighted when you submit as a P (probationary member).
