This is just stupid.. fireworks in general. Oohhh bright lights/loud noises!!! For the amount of accidents that happen, people/wildlife that are disturbed and house pets that are traumatized there is really no reason these should be allowed anywhere for any reason. Goes for all firecrackers too.

My only point is that you had two ways to view this video. As entertainment or deception. Why you picked the deception instead of being entertained tells me you may have a problem looking on "the bright side of life." If that's true you may have a deeper problem than what the video uncovered about you and what may be going on in your life. You shot a torpedo at the wrong ship.

Also, not to detract it's usefulness (and cool factor), but many people seeing this photo think that's how the Earth actually looks at night - it isn't. That composite uses satellite data from Suomi NPP's VIIRS sensor, which can detect much dimmer light than the human eye, and part of the compositing process was to normalize brightness of individual pixels (so dim lights get brighter, and bright lights don't washout adjacent pixels). Anyone who’s driven at night on LA freeways would expect exactly this. Between oncoming semi trucks with their brights on, signs, intermittent street lighting, etc, night vision is non existent. Anything not lit is invisible beyond 30 ft ahead.
Also, out driving your headlights is the norm almost everywhere. Low beams illuminate about 150 ft ahead, at 65mph it takes over 500 ft to stop on average (according to google), farther for heavy vehicles, worn brakes, and trucks. A recipe for disaster.

I guess brightly colored netting mounted on buoys is out of the question. You know, because it would cost jobs.
