Ma, that's a crazy lokin' cat!
I lost it at "Blink Mother F#cker"
People See the Double-slit Experiment for the First Time
Was hoping for an actual experiment.
You cannot both "detect" a photon/electron before it "enters a slit" and have it go through and "detect" it again at the back. That part is (probably) hogwash.
Detection at this scale really means fatal crash or at least deflection.
From what has been observed it would appear that in such an experiment an individual electron takes all the possible paths through both slits and the "waves" that "interfere" are waves of probability of the particle passing through detection points.
While it might as well be magic, really, QED does have observable rules, and this video might make it appear as though one could change the outcome by blinking an eye, which is not the case.
To make any headway stop thinking about tiny marbles. Think about tiny cartoon characters moving so fast they are smudged to invisibility whirring their tiny appendages around - you can only tell which particle and where it is if you swat it or it hits a wall and stops moving. There is no "detect but keep going as if nothing happened".

Watch any of Puddles videos and count how many times he blinks. Not counting when he just closes them for expression.
FizzBuzz : A simple test when hiring programmers/coders
I got distracted by all the blinking lights. Where is he... the Death Star control room? Frankly, I'm mildly jealous that my work place does not look as awesome as that.
As to the test itself, it's way too basic. I would expect any beginning programmer to be able to write that with only a few hours training. You could make it slightly more challenging by adding some arbitrary restrictions like "don't use a for loop" (i.e. use recursion) but those are pointless academic wankery.
I actually wrote tests and hired a coder earlier this year. This test wouldn't have got you an interview, never mind a job.
You want to impress me? Start out by writing a test that verifies the output. I don't care if it works, I want to know you can PROVE it works. While you're at it, if I see a console.log or a printf or a cout or any kind of output in your algorithm (unless it's just there for debugging)... instant fail. Learn to separate presentation from logic.
Finally, if you REALLY want to impress me, make it scale. 100 numbers? Meaningless. 1 million? 194ms on my machine.
Write me a version that can do several billion and take advantage of whatever threads/cores are available,
Trigger Happy Cop Attacks Private Investigator
Thing is people are simple, and they go by what seems normal based on their norms. A serious dude who acts unusual and confident is terrifying for a noob cop who knows he can get shot by a serious gangster facing a multi life term in a nighmare profit prison if he blinks. The whole situation in the US seems to now be terrified men pointing guns at each other with shaking hands. When I visit I'm just glad to get out alive.
Sir Patrick Stewart’s Ridiculous Circumcision Story
Other men have dicks? ::blink::
If you don't watch porn use the internet men can really go a long time without seeing any other dicks. It's great!
Free Melania
I saw on TV that someone at one of the anti Trump rallies had a sign saying "Melania, blink twice if you need help" and that #blinktwice is now a thing. Priceless.

Why you shouldn’t drive slowly in the left lane
Although I agree that left lane should be for passing, the example shown in this video is that of an hyper-aggressive driver being the instigator of an accident.
I also use the left lane for passing, where I increase my speed slightly above speed limit to pass slower vehicles. But, Sometimes a very speedy driver (way way above speed limit) will come and aggressively tailgate me dangerously all while I'm already blinking my intention to merge to the right lane to let him pass. I refuse to increase my speed dangerously above the limit just so I can make a dangerous merger back into right lane.
I feel like the argument here is poor, because aggressive drivers who can't accept waiting just a bit longer to pass are at fault most of the time.
Penn Jillette on Atheism and Islamaphobia
That's a much better statement than your first one and carries way more depth.
But is Islam a corrupt idea? Does it have to be? Even Penn admits that the chance a Muslim would become a terrorist is very, very small. Yet most terrorists are Muslim. Even still, millions of Muslims coexist peacefully with others through out the world. If you preach hate towards Islam then instead of pulling people away from the radicalized edge of Islam you risk pushing them straight over it. Unless your belief is that all Muslims should be eradicated since it is a corrupt idea and evil, just blink and eye and they are all ash and dust.
You'll notice I didn't say germans, I said nazis. If you want to exempt someone on the basis that they weren't really signed up to the movement, that's fine, but they're then no longer properly a part of the analogy.
In any case, probably the most generous thing that can be said of the 'naive nazis' is that if they didn't know the people they called jews - judaism is no more a race than islam - were being murdered, they merely thought they were being robbed of everything they owned, used as slave labour, and forcibly resettled. That's alright then.
You see, Penn is flat wrong when he says most people are good. Most people are stupid, and stupid people follow social norms, and social norms are, surprise, for the most part pro-social. It's a comforting illusion.
The friendly nazi baker who loves his family, always has a treat for the neighbourhood children, and never invaded anyone gets no pass from me. He's a fucking nazi. Most muslims don't blow people up or throw homosexuals off buildings, doesn't matter, they're still muslims.
Terrorism is a moronic bogeyman and I spread hate every day. Any idea can be used to corrupt people, that's not important. What is important is whether the idea in question is corrupt in itself; Penn says this one is, I agree with him, and that being so I say the people who hold to it deserve to be hated.
FIDLAR - 40oz. On Repeat
it's like blink 182 but even less interesting or self aware.
