1)there was no warning it would be a video of a vivisection/live semi-decapitation, but instead STILL HAS a title that implies a playful toss of a man by a camel and,
2)it was a vivisection as much as a butchering, and not at all the way animals are butchered in first world countries because we find it disgusting to see a terrified animal tied to a tree and have it's throat cut so it can bleed out slowly while conscious and aware it's being killed. I don't think a near beheading is the way it's normally done, more like a poke into the jugulars that drains the blood without the animal even knowing it's happening.
It had absolutely nothing to do with it being a camel, it was about an animal being killed in a terrifying looking way without any warning in the title.

I didn't even notice they were butchering the camel until I read the comments. And then I watched it again and I was horrified.

But then I thought about why I was horrified and it really has more to do with the fact that we simply don't see where our meat comes from anymore in society. If I want some turkey for Christmas dinner, I can just head to the grocery store and buy one that's ready to cook (or already cooked). I don't have to go out in the backyard and chop one's head off, bleed it, pluck it, and pull its innards out with my bare hands.

So really, the horror comes from just not seeing it happen everyday (even though I'm guessing millions of animals are butchered for food worldwide every day).

The comments in YouTube suggest this camel was being killed in a Halal fashion (which would require the butchering to be done the way we see in the video--a swift cut to the carotid artery followed by a bleeding out). Turkeys are killed in the same way, I believe (though hung upside down first before having their throat slit).

So to the people who are against this video (or are actually downvoting it) I say: humans are omnivores. It's scientific fact. Most humans eat animals and that usually means killing them first. This video shouldn't be shocking and probably the reason it is to you is that 1) you never thought to eat a camel since you grew up in a country where that wasn't common and/or 2) you've forgotten that animals actually have to be butchered before showing up on your local grocery store shelf and/or 3) you've chosen to be vegetarian (good on you) but forgotten that a large number of other people have chosen to embrace their omnivorism.

(I know omnivorism isn't an actual dictionary word but if vegetarianism can be a word, why not?)

The criminal nearly killed two officers with his STOLEN vehicle while trying to get away. He used a vehicle as a weapon, then sped through neighborhoods, fleeing from police. Note that in the absence of antivenom, DIC and respiratory suppression can be managed in an Intensive care setting - blood transfusions and fresh plasma for coagulation deficiencies would have been available at this time so it would have bene worth a try. I doubt that he underestimated the venom - bleeding from the gums is a clear sign of systemic coagulopathy which was not going to clear by itself and any herpetologist worth his salt would know that.

Actually Russia has long been very passive about the eastern expansion of NATO and they forgave that bleeding out of Russia towards the west in the 90s. Something like that happening at their doorstep actually justifies much MUCH harsher reactions, but they didnt use them. Instead they actually took another (hypocritical) slap in the face rather passively and silently with those sanctions.

Syria... I am surprised you even bring that up, because thats just stupid to use that for your argument. Syria has been a long ally of Russia and they asked for help after the US and NATO started bombing their infrastructure instead of ISIS. The war in Syria is even more obviously an externally funded war, not a civil war, while in the Ukraine you can actually see parts of a civil war, it started like that, because those people didnt want the new government. Also again mostly due to America and their support of other totalitarian regimes in that region.

Reminds me of the time that I observed an old woman walking home from the grocery store, who tripped and fell on her face as I drove by. Blood streamed from her face as I immediately pulled over to the side of the road and ran to her aid. I shouted at the bystanders to go get some towels to stem the bleeding as I checked to see if she was okay and called for help on my (at the time, fairly rare) cellular phone.

She asked me not to call the police, but to call her son-in-law, instead. She gave me the number and he came in about 10 minutes, as I sat by her side, helped to calm her jittery nerves and ensure that she was alright.

Three years later, she called me at random to thank me for my kindness. It was the least I could do and was surprising that so few people would have done likewise.

No one (that I could hear) laughed, and if you crank it up at 10-11 seconds you CAN hear someone ask "are you alright?". Also, he obviously didn't need help, he got up quickly and seemed uninjured (beyond his pride). Had he lay there bleeding in his Slurpee, I would be with you, though.

You remind me of the time my grandmother, at 91 years old, was walking her small dog on Memorial Drive in Houston (MAJOR street, up to hundreds of cars per minute). She tripped on a crack in the sidewalk and fell hard on her face, smashing it badly and knocking out some teeth. She ended up crawling well over 2 blocks on hands and knees in full view of the street (no bushes or trees obstructing the view), bleeding profusely down her face, and not a single car stopped to help. That was over 6 years ago, and it still boils my blood that so many people are so uncaring/unhelpful, and it makes me think these are likely the same people that beg for help at the slightest discomfort in their own lives.
