Other way round... this came out first.

I'd call Calvary a drama with elements of dark comedy, while the Guard is a black comedy with dramatic elements.

Brendan Gleeson is great in both of them, but in honesty, I prefer the Guard.

In Living Color... ahh yes... the golden age when black comedy wasn't dominated by Tyler Perry's fat suit.

And I just watch it as a bit of morbidly black comedy, laugh, feel awkward and move on.

It's just something I found accidentally and it tickled my funnybone at the time -- but obviously NO ONE else's -- so I should just get rid of it!
It's just a bunch of silly people dressed as police literally cooking up a batch of fudge. Really.
And something about watching "Bringing Down the House". I think the joke is just that they're NOT doing anything dirty. Just fake cops. Making actual fudge. That's it.

If this is offensive in title alone, I should just take it down! Tell me if you think that's a good idea!

My humour .. um .. ranges. I love smart political humour, but I do fall for pretty lame stuff too. Jeez, I just saw 'Four Lions' last night and it was hilarious but I can't imagine how it got green lit -- it's the darkest black comedy I've ever seen. Shocking!

My husband says I just laugh at everything. So there ya go.

this movie is on my top ten "most dartkest comedies" but it grows on you.
it is bobcat goldthwaits directorial debut.he wrote the script also..it is worth a watch if you like black comedy.

The funniest bit is that they've included 'Bruges' as a swear word. Collin Ferrel's character is in complete agreement.

Paul Verhoeven is pretty damn good (Showgirls aside), and this review hits it right on the money. A lot of people tend to miss the fact that his movies are largely black comedies.

I've seen interviews with him that made me question this though. In some it sort of seems that he misses that fact as well.
