bioshock infinite - beast of america trailer

probie says...

System Shock 2 is my #2 game of all time (only beaten by the original Half-Life) so when Bioshock came out, I was really psyched that I'd get to return to that FPS/RPG style of gameplay. I thought they did a lot of things great in Bioshock (the art style, the graphics, the story, the physics and mechanics of the gameplay), it's always the things that didn't make sense to me that stick in my mind first whenever anyone brings it up. Vending machines that sell ammunition? (That never made much sense to me in SS2 either.) Psychic abilities that summon......bees? They're little things, but it's always stuff like this that breaks the immersion for me. Anyone else like that?

Odd that they couldn't get this released for the Xmas rush.

Publishers are slowly (thankfully) recognizing that the Christmas-rush is bullshit. More are waiting until just after Christmas when they don't have to compete with the Xmas-game hype, and gamers have already blazed through the holiday offerings and are looking for something for the new year.

I have always bought less games around Christmas simply because of the over-saturation. I'll pick one (maybe) and wait to see how the others fare and get them when they're prices drop, if at all. I get frustrated at the complete lack of new games in the summer seasons too, so I'm happy more releases are spreading out.

And this looks like it will be around the same level of quality of the original. Great atmosphere and amazing visualization, but tired and overly-scripted gameplay. The character animation, though, looks particularly horrible, which is a bummer.

I loved the aesthetic of Bioshock, but the gameplay just never really worked for me. I passed on Bioshock 2 and this looks like pretty much more of the same.
That said, upvote for the excellent music!

Agreed (Although I thought this music felt massively out of place in this trailer Not the lyrics, the music itself). I thought Bioshock's setting, atmosphere and story where great. Gameplay was pretty poor. Bioshock 2 wasn't any better and felt simply rehashing the original.

Bioshock Infinite, however, looks to play a lot better than the first and am really looking forward to it. However, no Stephen Russell doing main character's voice anymore? Boooooooo!

Gimme gimme gimme.

Bioshock is still my favourite gaming experience. I am just now playing Bioshock 2.

This may be my reason to finally upgrade my 5 year old pc. It's been able to continue to play the few games I throw at it, but this might finally break it!

*quality

Ha he's on form with this one for sure. Despite me not liking the graphical style at all it does just strike me as boring. And all that nonsense about zillions of guns? Really? It's just a huge grind. I'd rather have a focused corridor-shooter with finely honed mechanics and a great story. Yes I'm awaiting the next Bioshock game.

Wow... you guys really don't get it do you?

He doesn't REVIEW games in any fair or just sense of the word, he's never claimed to.

And you know what, he 'reviews' the bits I care about anyway, because I hate multiplayer. Ok, I quite like it when you're playing your friends on a LAN in the same room, that's ok. But playing against a bunch of fast twitch high school kids is not my idea of fun.

Give me a great single player campaign (I'm looking at you Bioshock, and with longing eyes Bioshock Infinite), and I'm a happy camper.

So, really, getting your panties in a twist because his joke review doesn't cover the portion of the game that you love with a burning passion is retarded.

You do know there are 'proper' review sites out there don't you?

What's the Parappa reference? Is it the thing that moves out of view from behind the dogs just as the soldiers enter?
>> ^Shepppard:
So, this video makes reference to:
CoD (or, generic WWII shooters), Twisted Metal, Parappa the Rappa, Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank, Final Fantasy, Killzone, Uncharted, God of War, Portal, Infamous, Tekken, MLB/NFL generic games, Metal Gear, Modern Warfare 3, Dead Space, Bioshock, Hitman, Resistance and Assassins Creed.
Not sure if the bartender is supposed to be from somewhere, though.

Nope, that's the Mk.II or III, whichever is in MGS4, the parappa is on the wall behind the chick in the booth, it's just a crappy little drawing, but it's a dog in a red hat with a purple shirt.

Pause at 31 seconds, just before it switches back to the two soldiers, he's on the right side.
