"Nice Shoes"

Warehouse Jenga

RFlagg says...

Yeah, I saw something that suggested this was filmed in July, so you'd think there was more information. All the news I can find on it, just report about the "viral video", with no results on when and where for sure. You'd think that the company itself, or people there that day, would have seen it gone viral and put info out by now... though unless it was the company itself, it'd be harder to vet.

I'd wager the driver was okay in the cage, might have broke a bone or two, but otherwise was okay. The guy in yellow on the right would be the bigger concern, as he was buried. Near the very end you see somebody in black making a run across the far right as the last section collapses.

The crazy thing is, the shelf was barely hit. You probably hit it harder when putting pallets up. It must have been the perfect combo of angle and velocity, then add to that the tension on the legs given the way it was stacked and voila, disaster.

Maybe...I thought he's likely just been swept off his feet, but it's possible he got crushed. There's surprisingly little info about this to be found.

Woman Tries To Block access to Apartment

newtboy says...

As I thought, one more instance of a white woman following the rules by asking a black man to follow the fucking rules, and so she's labeled a racist.....who's married to an African American. *facepalm

The man pushed his way into the secure building as she opened the door for her dog and refused to tell her which apartment he lived in or demonstrate that he had a key to the building. He knew that was the procedure requested by the building owners/managers, he got the same emails requesting no one allow any stranger into the secure building that she did, but he refused to follow procedure.
What's more, he decided to publicly shame her over attempting to follow posted safety procedures and building rules because he's racist. Guaranteed he would not have recorded and publicized this if she were black doing exactly the same thing, and news outlets wouldn't air it if he did, but because she's white, game on.

Now, for properly following the building rules, she's fired, ostracized, and getting multiple death threats daily. That's outrageous. He should have the same consequences, as the actual racist in this situation.

Bbq where it's not allowed and rudely refuse to move to where it is allowed, I'll call the cops. Loudly hawk water under my window all day without a permit and rudely refuse to move, I'll call the cops. Push into my secure building and act like a rude intruder instead of my new neighbor, I'll call the cops. I don't give one single fuck what color your skin is.....this bullshit that a white person"snitching" on a black person (who is violating the posted rules/law and being a rude asshole about it) is reason to call them racists is just that, bullshit.
Call me a racist now, because dark skin won't protect you from having to follow the rules and law or be stopped/ reported around me any more or less than pink, yellow, tan, red, or any other color skin would.
Downvote spreading this narrative that whites must ignore the rude illegal actions of non whites or be labeled racist. Fuck that, homie don't play dat.

Nut Milking EXPOSED!

JiggaJonson says...

@smr
Well, there was a fight over the definition of butter too, but not what you described.

I think the biggest difference is the possibility that the public could confuse one product for another.

The public uses nut milk as a substitute for animal milk, you put it on cereal, in shakes, dunk cookies in it, etc. It's a white liquid that differs in taste, but is made to be close to animal milk.

The fight over "butter" as a definition happened between butter and margerine. The butter people, at one point even lobbied for a law making it so magerine could not be sold in the color yellow. It makes sense to some degree. They are similar products. They are used in almost identical application.

It's probably the case that nothing like that happened with peanut butter because it's not close enough to regular butter to be confused as churned milk fat.

One could argue that people may put peanut butter on toast with jelly with their breakfast, possibly; but they'd know what product they are using. No one would try to put a dollop of apple or peanut butter in a pan to fry up some eggs. They are night and day different products and it's not as though one would be confused about what you were getting into with the purchase of apple butter instead of butter.

Whereas milk vs almond milk seem similar enough, and butter and margerine are similar enough and both used the same; the FDA then decided that a distinction should be made.

Loaded Baked Potato

transmorpher says...

If your potatoes don't have flavour you're shopping at the wrong stores. Same if your potatoes have no colour like this.

A good potato should be a nice shade of yellow, and taste creamy.

Is Eating Humans Actually Unhealthy?

Mordhaus jokingly says...

Yellow 5

newtboy said:

So, they start by telling you how different human meat is from pork, then end by saying just eat pork instead of long pig, they taste the same. Which is it?!
At least they didn't ignore Kuru, (CJD) but outside Papua New Guinea and Britain prions aren't common as far as we know.
I was disappointed they left out how contaminated most long pig is, humans eat crap, who wants to eat meat full of pharmaceuticals and red dyes?

Turning too fast

nanrod says...

It probably wasn't crushed but suffered a power interuption causing it to go to flashing yellow but then rebooted and returned to normal operation.

I think the load crushed the grey control box (next to the telephone pole), so they went to the default flashers like most are designed to do in a malfunction.
I'm more curious how they went back to green.

The Diversity of Local Independent News

RedSky says...

From: http://money.cnn.com/2018/03/07/media/sinclair-broadcasting-promos-media-bashing/index.html

The instructions for producing and airing the localized versions went into great detail about how the promos "should look and sound," according to another document obtained by CNN.

"Talent should dress in jewel tones -- however they should not look political in their dress or attire," one of the documents says. "Avoid total red, blue and purples dresses and suits. Avoid totally red, blue and purple ties, the goal is to look apolitical, neutral, nonpartisan yet professional. Black or charcoal suits for men...females should wear yellow, gold, magenta, cyan, but avoid red, blue or purple."

At the end of the promo, viewers are encouraged to send in feedback "if you believe our coverage is unfair."

The instructions say that "corporate will monitor the comments and send replies to your audience on your behalf."

In other words, local stations are cut out of the interactions with viewers. Management will handle it instead.

Best fake soccer dive (fall) to draw a winning penalty shot

greatgooglymoogly says...

Seems pretty clear that the guy on the ground(after getting pushed there) actually TRIED to trip the yellow player, with BOTH of his legs. No contact though. Hard to swallow a flop winning the game like this, the win should be vacated.

Dad, we've been through this

TheFreak says...

Sooo...anyway. Had a cop friend who worked in my district and he used to pull me over every time he saw my car, just to say Hi. I drove a bright yellow Karmann Ghia, so it was easy to spot. Then one day he pulled me over...except it was my wife driving the car. He felt really bad. Never pulled me over again after that.
