Makes me think of the guy who videotaped the woman at the Chick-Fil-A drive thru, figuring he would be lauded as a hero for challenging someone who worked for that company. And it backfired and he became unemployed because of his "principles", which was pretty much what he expected of that woman. And then he played the victim. Now that everyone has the power to self-publish and broadcast just about anything to the entire world I'm seeing the power that it unleashes in others. I posted a comment on an unsolicited news posting in my FB feed, regarding the Pulitzer Prize picture of the black woman holding out her hands to be handcuffed by the police in riot gear. And everyone in the comment section is going predictably teary-eyed and goose pimply over it, with the usual cliches of iconic, defining, inspiring, uplifting, etc.

And I wrote "don't be so easily manipulated, it's stagey and predictable and Kardashians use this shit to sell sugar water." or something like that. My point being that we have gone from prize-winning pictures of the Viet Nam war (e.g.) to the whole process being co-opted by pop culture, like everything and anything else. Of course I got bombarded with claims of racism and people who pitied my soul. And some were musing on whether to try to track down my employer. I deleted my comment, this world has gotten too fucking weird for me.

If you do either of those things, you will be shat upon as if it was a downpour and you neglected to bring an umbrella. I admit, I will be one of the first to rip into someone over either if they don't have a logical argument; such as people defending Islam. But I am also aware that there are good cops and good religious people out there, they are just rarely videotaped because it lacks sensationalism.

Now I don't have all the information on this video, but I have been stopped in a similar situation many years ago for driving late at night in an expensive sports car. Why, you ask, incredulously? The cop was nice enough in my case to explain that the area I was leaving, having just come from a friend's house where we were playing xbox, was a known manufacturing area for meth. He asked why I was out so late, I told him. He asked if I had any drugs or dead bodies in the car in a joking fashion, I told him that he could clearly see everything in the car but the spare tire so I didn't. He told me the above thing about why he stopped me and let me go. This video shows a cop trying to find marijuana, which is still illegal in most states. What this video doesn't show is the amount of stolen property that is recovered by the same technique, which is bluffing. But of course, people who commit burglaries and thefts don't videotape the encounters they have with police officers.

When I worked the road, I didn't give a crap about speeders, so didn't run radar or laser, and I didn't really care about marijuana because alcohol is far more dangerous to people, but I did bust a couple of bikers from a biker gang trying to sell a grocery bag full of marijuana. They also had a 9mm, which would have been used to a criminal manner, I'm sure. By the way, they got off of the marijuana charge because the judge said I didn't have enough probably cause to make the stop, even though I knew through observation that they were up to something highly suspicious.

These coppers are engaging in criminal activity. They are practicing an unrighteous livelihood. England is a police state. What they are doing here on camera is what any criminal organization's enforcers have done for centuries. One does not need to know the particular circumstances surrounding this incident, the videotape tells the entire story.

That only seems to address the option of a military strike. What of the deployment of chemical weapons against Syrian civilians? The evidence from the UN report seems to remove any doubt to the fact that hundreds, maybe better than a thousand died in the chemical attacks on Aug. 21 alone. The evidence even further shows the trajectory from several craters point towards one of Assad's military bases. If the previous evidence had not already been sufficient, surely the conclusion can at least be made that the burden of evidence clearly suggests that Assad's forces committed the attack. That evidence as well is about as strong as it could possibly get. Even videotaped evidence of Assad's forces loading and firing said rockets would be hard to be declared more conclusive. After all, maybe it's just fake footage by America, or has been misrepresented or some other possible fault.

My trouble when speaking to the next generation is how exactly do you tell them that yes, Assad is a dictator deploying chemical weapons to maintain his hold on power, but the good and moral path is for us to not get involved with anything but words. Why? Well, because we might make the situation for Syria's civilians even worse. I just don't subscribe to the world view that ignoring in all but word such a dictatorship is the 'right thing'. When a dictator is deploying chemical weapons to hold onto power I support and advocate for the use of force against that dictator, and the absence of such by the entirety of the UN is to me a crime as well.

Nat Geo puts out such trash these days. Even the Discovery Channel does better nature documentaries. Where'd they get that narrator; was if from Talk Soup on E! or from the Animal Planet ('I used my phone to videotape my dog acting neurotically') network?
