While these cops are slime who need to be locked up for child endangerment, the police are rarely the ultimate cause of such stupidity.

For the most part people choose to become police officers to protect people; the War on Drugs, the militarization of police forces and the destruction of civil liberties (in exchange for more "security") has perverted policing. More and more people who wouldn't have been (mentally) fit for the job in years past are becoming cops. More and more of the police with good intentions are being converted into government thugs.

Something needs to change and that something is bigger than the police.

Aren't we the ones who get upset at the media for letting slime-balls like this off the hook? For being too soft with them so that they can ensure a "good relationship" so that they'll return as a guest?

Rachel effectively guaranteed that he'll never come back and she was clearly fine with that. I don't see what she said as losing her cool. She was calm and collected, but clearly very nervous to say those words to a bad man. But she had the courage to do it anyway.

And that's the kind of courage we've been dying to see in the media for the longest time.

I think the principles should be reversed in the title - Maddow got her butt handed to her here to the point where she started making personal attacks. The guy seems quite the slime-ball, but she lost her cool big time and he never broke a sweat, never lost his condescending smile.

Because it requires both information recall and comparison, processes which require energy. Additionally it is only observable in situations where information processing is known to be taking place, and we have no reason to believe that internal narrative is anything but a special case of thinking.

The "amoeba", which is actually a slime mold, does not, because it is responding only to the supply and transport of food, its "maze solving" is a probabilistic event, not an action.

Ants use a similar system to find paths to food, but they use a chemical marker system as a collective memory, here they leverage the same probabilistic event, shorter paths have higher throughput for energy used, but keep track of it in a manner distinct from the source of food itself. Their path finding system is "intelligent" in a way the ants individually are not, but I am not willing to arbitrarily imbue the chemtrail or the probabilistic event with any sort of special quality as a result.

You guys have it all wrong. What we need to do, is:
-Check for the presence of any evil guy paintings in the closest museum.
-Get a sample of the slime monster and put it in a toaster to make it dance.
-Then, of course, hose down Dan Aykroyd with it.

The majority of posters on videosift seem to regard Fox News as non-journalistic and non-professional (including myself). This video is nothing new. What is new, is they are admitting the sort of individuals who email. The ones that are very hateful, vengeful, and psychopathic. The ones who could make Oklahoma City Bombing a cherry bomb in comparison. Fox News, has been goading on this sort of individuals since before GWB was president.

And do you hold the same opinion of CNN? MSNBC? ABC News? CBS? The AP? Newswire? Newsweek? TIME? The point I'm making is that FOX is not alone here. Every "news" agency today is overflowing with the exact same level of hate, vitriol, slime, bias, and lack of professionality. Why are you cheering a vid that wants FOX to tone it down, while at the exact same time you guys cheer at the EXACT same stuff when it comes from Olberman, or Maddow, or all the other guys that are 'stoking' hatred?

All during the Bush presidency the same stuff was coming from the neolibs and the other liberal news sites. It was angry, it was bitter, it was hateful, it was vile, it was coarse, it was despicable. And yet, that stuff gets top votes on the Sift. Why is that? The only possible explanation is that you guys are bunch of flaming hypocrites. In one breat you want to shut down Fox news for being jersk. In the other you are giving a BJ to other news channels for doing the same thing.
