PILOT DIES, Passenger Lands King Air
He was amazing, but I think he also was a pilot as well. Just not skilled on a plane of that size and type.
I admire how the passenger kept a cool head. His self control was more important in being able to control the plane.

Lot of reasons to hate that approach plate---unstabilized and requires a lot of pilot skill...and then, if the pilot isn't skilled, stuff goes wrong.
Hong Kong's old Kai Tak---same thing.
The temptation is always to NOT stuff it into the ground on approach which overshoots touchdown---and then you're running down off the end of the runway...egads.

Helicopter Nearly Collides With Drone Off Hollywood Coast
Shitty drone pilot. Saw that coming... literally.... a (half a)
mile away.
Evil
Ask your pilot.
Is this supposed to be meaningful to anyone?
"The HONEST pre-flight safety video" - Reaction!
From the YT comment section:
"I once asked the pilot of a 737 as I was getting on, how often do these things crash?
He casually replied, usually just the once..."
Prowler Catapult Launch
That's what flying out of John Wayne in Orange County feels like. The last time I flew out of there, the pilot didn't do a standard roll. He pushed the throttles to max while holding the brakes, then popped the brakes and off we went. There's a noise-abatement zone just beyond the airport, so the pilots go up like rocket, then cut the throttles back and it feels like the plane is dropping out of the sky.

Star Wars: Squadrons – Official Reveal Trailer
Ok, being able to pilot a tie fighter in VR means I really need to build a new pc. Sure I want to play Alyx pretty badly as I've been fiending for new HL for years, but this is something tiny child me would probably explode in joy over. So that's gonna need to happen.
The Insane Engineering of the A-10 Warthog | Real Engineerin
Apropos of my name, Stuka pilot Hans Rudel provided input to the original construction of the A-10.
An actual smoke screen (smoke curtain)
I shared this with my retired AF pilot brother -- he brought up Leyte Gulf, too!
Loose Cannon | 1994 Fairchild Air Force Base B-52 Crash
$7500 for dereliction of duty that killed an entire flight crew and an expensive aircraft?! Colonel Pellerin and the rest of the officers involved should be indentured servants with no pay until they pay off the price of the plane (so for life), and be in prison for the length of time he stole from those flight crew's lives....they should definitely be forced to hand their pension over to their victims and lose their rank if there was such a thing as military justice.
I'm more than a little surprised no one killed that show off in self defense....the next time a pilot takes his bomber to 3', eject him.
MIG 15 hydraulic failure over the Mojave Desert
I thought it did a gravity drop, but you probably know more than I do. The closed captions did work reasonably well in English, but I'm no pilot.
So I was unclear; did the gear end up doing a gravity drop? Or did the pilot in the front cockpit initiate an emergency procedure like with a spare reservoir or something?
