Vegan Diet or Mediterranean Diet: Which Is Healthier?

transmorpher says...

Stay tuned for James Cameron's (Terminator/Titanic/Avatar) documentary titled "The Game Changers" coming out it in Feb 2019 :-)

Indeed I have to agree with you, even with some animal products, the health outcomes for people in western nations would be immensely better if they ate fewer animal foods over all.

I say the lack of top athletes who are vegan contradicts your last theory. Humans are omnivores and work best as such.

"Nice Shoes"

moonsammy says...

"Robot" on the guitar pedal doesn't seem to be a reference to anything in particular, but the "R" is lifted from the Ryobi power tools logo.

I agree with Blade Runner for the origami, Edward James Olmos' character has a thing with them.

I'd add that the shots at 3:03 and 3:20 are also straight from Buckaroo Banzai.

Things i'd like answered...

1:18 The ROBOT sign seems familiar. Probably due to the font and particularly the "R".

2:42 What is the Oragami and toy car from? Also is Quark from something?

Who Needs Wingsuits?

Interesting backstory to this diver Stig Pryds - like many other people , he cured his arthritis by ditching meat and dairy.

He's supposed to be in a wheelchair and on medication.

He started swimming as therapy for his arthritis too, and turns out he's the worlds best freediver......which no doubt makes him talented, but when you think about how not eating cholesterol (only in meat/dairy/eggs/fish) will clean out your arteries, it's no wonder his blood is able to stay oxygenated for longer periods. Along with eating greens, he'll be around 20% more efficient at utilizing oxygen and creating energy.

I wonder if he'll be in the upcoming James Cameron's Game Changers documentary.

Speech Pathologist in Texas Fired for Refusing Israel Oath

bcglorf says...

Maybe a a question to get less universal agreement; How does the relate to James Damore? He's 'that guy' that Google fired for his opinions on the gender gap and employment outcomes.

The easy out is to point his case is different because Google isn't a public school, but if you put that aside, are the two cases different anymore? Two people fired because they wouldn't be silent on their political beliefs?

We're the Last Humans Left...

BSR says...

Made me think of this.

Commander Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, M.D. : Spock, this "child" is about to wipe out every living thing on Earth. Now, what do you suggest we do? Spank it?

Commander Spock: It knows only that it needs, Commander. But, like so many of us... it does not know what.
---------------------

Commander Spock: V'Ger must evolve. Its knowledge has reached the limits of this universe and it must evolve. What it requires of its god, doctor, is the answer to its question, "Is there nothing more"?

Commander Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, M.D.: What more is there than the universe, Spock?

Commander Willard Decker: Other dimensions. Higher levels of being.

Commander Spock: The existence of which cannot be proven logically. Therefore, V'Ger is incapable of believing in them.

Captain James T. Kirk: What it needs in order to evolve... is a human quality. Our capacity to leap beyond logic.

Commander Willard Decker: And joining with its creator might accomplish that.

Commander Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, M.D.: You mean this machine wants to physically join with a human? Is that possible?

Commander Willard Decker: Let's find out.
----------------------------------

So, basically... V'ger needed to get laid?

McCain defending Obama 2008

bobknight33 says...

I agree there has been a F load of change in personnel. The real question is does this turnover occur in in business life?

If so then one could consider Trump as some kind of dickhead to work for .

If not then what is the reason for the difference?

I think there is much more going on behind the scenes. Why would one have a military General as your chief of staff?

With Obama's top level FBI as example --
Comey -- fired
McCabe- Fired
James Baker, general counsel -- Fired
James Rybicki Chief of staff -- Fired
Perter Strozk -- Fired
Lisa Page -- ???

If Hillary was elected not of their wrong doings would have come to light. All gunning to get Trump. Still that is just the FBI.

No wonder Trump is cleaning house so much. Some bad guys found? Some paranoia?
There isn't a day goes by without something big occurring.

There is still 3 big reports to come out.
Mullers findings.
The 2nd OIG report and Huber's findings

AG Jeff Sessions appointed John Huber will be the ‘top federal prosecutor’ who will be investigating FISA abuses . Huber's staff is over 400.

Also Guantanamo Bay, Cuba-- Expanding like mad...

$14 million to expand the prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. This is a "strategically critical time-sensitive expansion project". DOD justification states the "current trial support facilities are incapable of handling the large number of personnel .
https://insidedefense.com/insider/pentagon-expand-gitmo-after-trump-orders-it-remain-open

The place can hold some 2300 prisoners, currently Gitmo is currently holding 41 prisoners.. Also the 137th, 428th, and 514th was deployed this month to Gitmo for a year . Rotating people out - possible, but some 500 troops for 41 prisoners?

What is so time sensitive for to handle trial support facilities are incapable of handling the large number of personnel .-- Where are these people coming from? What is coming down the pike?

Like I said above:
I think there is much more going on behind the scenes. Why would one have a military General as your chief of staff?

I appreciate your response to my question earlier, @bobknight33.

I don't mean to try to drag you back into the thread here if you're trying to disengage -- I dunno what you mean by #walkaway. Anyway, this doesn't require a response.
