Reminds me of the old school movie Wages of Fear, where they drove trucks full of nitro glycerin through the jungle to blow up a well fire (the old way of putting them out). That's a pretty extreme fire extinguisher too!

I thought it was quite good. Not great, but quite good.

That being said, the one thing that I was sure that an "honest trailers" spoof/take on it would include was left out: I lost count of how many times the last propulsive jet before they ran out of thrust in whatever system/mechanism they were using was just enough to get them into "precarious grab, slip and bump off into another precarious grab".

Gorgeous George jets around as carefree as can be -- fetching bolts, unhitched and drifting Sandra ... even the corpse of "man down in the first 5 minutes". He or others talk about how he is going for the record longest spacewalk many times. But then, when they really need it, "oh, sorry, I've just got enough juice left for one more burn".

Same thing repeats for the Soyuz, the Wall-E extinguisher, and conceptually in many other instances.

That is the aspect of the flick that stood out the most for me as begging for a good send-up.

I mean... I guess if you threw them on people who were fucking they would likely stop. But... why would you want to extinguish fucking?

The fact that race is the central topic in this discussion is exemplary of how far off the mark it is from identifying the real issue.
Just because the buffoon perpetrating this cultural misbehavior was white, and was slinging racial slurs in complete ignorance, doesn't mean it's an issue OF race. He's racist, and he's an asshole, but the cultural element is the problem, not one fools personal behavior.

The entire "locker room culture" perpetuates bullying and inequality well beyond racial borders, and encourages the ego-centric narcissism that's the real root of the problem. Eliminating racial slurs here is about as useful as making the forest fire no longer produce smoke. You have to smother the blaze with a blanket of individual humility and accountability to extinguish the problem at its source.
