How to Fix Christmas Lights Fast and Easy

alcom says...

Uh, yes it works. I tested it on some old outdoor mini lights and attempted to create one good string of good lights out of 3 partially-working strings. Unfortunately, one of the lights exploded and a piece hit my ceiling really hard! Fearing for my eyes, I abandoned the project.

I recommend just buying a new string of led lights

ABC News Bobbles Dismiss Obama's Funeral Selfie

VoodooV says...

just another distraction piece. pay attention to this triviality over here while real news goes unreported

and yes, I'd say the same damn thing if it was a Republican doing a selfie. Whether you like it or not, Presidents (plural) are celebrities and all their shit is overscrutinized. Meanwhile, yet another tiresome debt ceiling debacle is going on by the actual lawmakers and holders of power in this country. The whole idea of a king/queen or president in the modern age is to distract the populace while the real power holders in business and gov't go unscrutinized.

..and its working.

Tracy Morgan on Star Wars

poolcleaner says...

You let hilarious quotes about homosexuals and dead black children bother you?

Who let this man onto the internet?!

I advise you to repeat the fifty rules fifty times out loud. Only then will ceiling cat forgive you, my son.

^all I think about when I see Tracy Morgan anymore. It doesn't help that I didn't think he was funny in the first place.

Battlefield 4: Next-Gen vs. Current-Gen

Khufu says...

You can't put these side-by-side and assume that you're seeing the best of each platform. It's really just a faster computer... so it would be the same as taking a PC game and comparing 'med' and 'ultra' settings. If you compare GAMES from the launch of a console to the launch of the next gen, there will be a bigger difference as game studios figure out how far they can push the hardware and no longer have to support the older platform. The ceiling for what can be done has just been raised... that's all.

That being said, whatever was being used to get those peeling paint-chips on the door (looked better than a regular normal map) are pretty impressive on the new console.

The Shutdown Blame Game - Jon Stewart on The Daily Show

Grimm says...

Yeah...now they love to change the subject to the website problems they are experiencing. Valid point to something that has nothing to do with the debt ceiling or the Govt shutdown.

The Shutdown Blame Game - Jon Stewart on The Daily Show

VoodooV says...

What's hilarious is that suddenly, now that they are starting to realize that they aren't going to win, they're pretending that the shutdown had nothing to do with the ACA, They've changed their argument again and now trying to pretend it was to "curb wasteful spending"

Which again, is only a valid argument...IF YOU ARE STUPID! It's been debunked time and time again. the debt ceiling is not about new spending, it's about PAYING OUR EXISTING BILLS!!

They are completely changing their argument again and just playing up the anti-Obama rhetoric and counting on low-information voters to buy into their nonsense.

It's like they've completely given up on even trying to be truthful, every interview with a Republican on the shutdown is just them changing the subject or throwing up an ad hom attack on Obama or some other logical fallacy.

They've gone completely insane.

Boehner On Shutdown: 'This Isn't Some Damn Game!"

charliem says...

Debt ceiling has always been raised, every year...always.
It has to, in order to account for inflation.

Previously, it was automated, so no arguments from anyone. Until it wasnt...and now its a political football.

Boehner On Shutdown: 'This Isn't Some Damn Game!"

Trancecoach says...

I don't think they'll let the U.S. default now, nor do I think they will not raise the debt ceiling (But, again, who knows?). If they do, however, raise the ceiling, it will be another indication that there is no more capping the debt, it will grow and grow until the country has no choice but to default.

Interesting to remember, back at the beginning of the Reagan years, fiscal conservatives were "crying" about the debt being $1 trillion. That's nothing compared to what it is today. And it was Reagan (by way of his "Reaganomics") who decided that there was no problem with increasing the debt.
Writes Murray Rothbard (in 1981), in an article about how the U.S. should just default on the debt:

"Perhaps the most absurd argument of Reaganomists was that we should not worry about growing public debt because it is being matched on the federal balance sheet by an expansion of public 'assets'."

(I wonder what he would make of today's $16 trillion+ in U.S. debt?)

Predictably, as soon as Reagan went on a spending spree, fiscal "conservatives" stopped being so (not unlike the 'leftists' who stopped being anti-war as soon as Obama was elected).

It should also serve us to remember that it was the Democratic party that first considered itself the party of fiscal responsibility, at least with regards to Jefferson, Jackson, and Van Buren who all had a conscious plan to defund government but eventually failed for various historical reasons.

"It is for all these reasons that the Jeffersonians and Jacksonians (who, contrary to the myths of historians, were extraordinarily knowledgeable in economic and monetary theory) hated and reviled the public debt. Indeed, the national debt was paid off twice in American history, the first time by Thomas Jefferson and the second, and undoubtedly the last time, by Andrew Jackson."

I do. They're insane zealots and Blame Obama Firsters that want nothing more than the next anti-Obama sound bite to keep their name in the news daily and apparently have no thought about how they damage the country by doing so.
Anyone but the incumbent is how I'll be voting next election, and for the foreseeable future until they are ALL replaced.
