of course, the rate will soar even higher as the next election nears. he's sorta the santa of insincerity. delivering nothing to the stockings but a false promise. to believe in either takes a great deal of naivety.

Of course no one is talking about a full gun ban. However, once you compromise the 2nd Amendment, you place the decision in the hands of our legislature. You know, the super functional branch of our government that never makes mistakes. You also allow them to decide 'what' you need.

I've not been to NZ, but I seriously doubt that the cultural dichotomy that is present in the USA is remotely represented in NZ.

I support abortion rights, I support gay marriage, I would love to be able to trip out to the local head shop and buy some weed, and I don't think heavily restricting guns would solve the issues we are looking at. The last two mass shootings were terrorist related. Prior to that, they have primarily been mental health related. We have one of the worst mental health policies and systems in the world. Medicate first, don't hospitalize, don't provide therapy, and other such bright ideas. Ever since we passed the Community Mental Health Centers Act of 1963, homelessness and acts of violence by the mentally ill have been on the rise. Inpatient centers have become rare and, like I said, most people get a pill and a swift kick in the ass out the door. I would be willing to bet if we fixed our health care issues in regards to the mentally ill and maybe put a 15 day waiting period on the purchase of ANY gun, we would stop 99% of these mass shootings.

I'm pretty sure the future intentions for this technology is to have a printer you can move to the site, and it would build the entire house structure over several days.

But of course this still needs a lot of work... those walls look terrible and rough as hell, and they're almost completely hollow, so unless they filled it with insulating foam, the thermal properties of the building must suck.

IF this type of technology reaches the point where it can build houses as good as a regular one, AND it can also reduce the price by a good chunk... then it will have a huge impact on construction. This and also the pre-built structure format. Let's not forget the chinese built a 30 story hotel in just 15 days, two years ago:

Did you even read my post? I specifically mention that I am from Canada and that the US is different. Second I have my PALR and know quite a lot about our gun laws here in Canada.

Where I live the government just passed a new drunk-driving law. They institued the following:

The government also plans new suspensions for drivers caught with an alcohol limit between 0.05 and 0.08. Drivers caught within that range the first time would face a three-day suspension and three-day vehicle seizure, rising to a 15-day suspension and seven-day seizure on the second offence and 30-day suspension and seven-day seizure on a third offence.

Now, I think debating any drunk-driving law is like arguing against kittens, but it seems that this law makes no appeal available to the convicted. If you were caught in the past, it would be a 24hour license suspension, tow your car, and they throw you in a cab. Say you are caught on the road and your vehicle is immediatly impounded for three days. This would before your case goes to trial. If you were a commercial tradesmen you suddenly lose your job as you have no vehicle. It seems the punishment is before the court case and trial.

Also, they lowered the tolerance to .05 from .08. This is in a country where our beer is 5%.

That's amazing. And scary. This SBS report is just sad, a country building with no need... it's going to come crashing down at some time.

And it's so sad that they are building so many apartments with prices that make them useless to the millions that need them, so therefore are completely useless. Whereas if they were providing them as affordable housing for those that need it they'd be killing two birds with one stone. They'd keep their GDP up as they so desperately want to, AND they'd be increasing the standard of living for their people.
