why not abuse my blog....
...to spam some of my unsifted/pqueued vids. (and provide a bit more info+links about the vids while im at it)
Yann Tiersen - A Ton Etoile - for example. It's one of the greatest songs i've heard and here it's played live on Yann Tiersen's Black Session. Sung by Noir Desir singer Cantat. 'Black Sessions' are music performance sessions in front of an audience in France. They are featured on the 'C'est Lenoir' tv-programme. Among the artists that have recorded a 'black session' are Radiohead, Coldplay, The National, Eels and Pulp.
The Saints - Stranded - The Saints have been around for a long time, the band was founded in 1974 and they were part of the punk-uprising of the late seventies, although far more garagerock-ish than most euro-punkbands. Btw...if you wanna hear some more australian punkrock/garagepunk of the late 70's i'd highly recommend the 'Do the pop' 2disc compilation (available on soulseek). Gorefest - For the Masses One of the best dutch metalband. They are renowned for their death-metal but my personal favorite album is 'Chapter 13' (1998) which is quite a lot slower (without being not less powerful) than standard death metal.
the Killers - Human - the new Killers single. Can't believe nobody is voting it up. Probably just because my vids seem to get lost in the sea of siftness. However, it's worth the sift because a) there are a lot of Killers fans out there who love new Killers material b) i myself am not a Killers fan at all, but this song is pretty cool, and c) i even replaced the embed so you guys and girls can enjoy the official videoclip (it wasn't online yet when i posted it)
The Gun Club - Sex Beat - What? Just one vote? This might be my favorite song ever. The record was released in 1981 which makes this GOOD 80's music, and you know how rare that is. Just click the damn link for a sexy bluespunkrocknroll song.
What allmusic.com says about the song: "a razor-sharp country one-two shuffle becomes a howling wind as Pierce's wasted, half-sung half-howled vocals relate a tale of voodoo, sex, dope, and death. The song choogles like a freight train coming undone in a twister. Here Black Flag, the Sex Pistols, Son House, and the coughing, hacking rambling ghost of Hank Williams all converge in a reckless mass of seething energy and nearly evil intent."
Bon Iver & Lykke Li - Dance Dance Dance - Bon Iver, i sure hope you all (or at least if you're into indie/alternative music ) own the record 'for emma forever ago' or seen them perform. Lykke Li, one of the gems that were made famous in the bloggin-circuit. The combination = quite nice. (even though i prefer Bon Iver playing their own great great songs)
Woven Hand - Sparrow Falls - This guy, David Eugene Edwards -former frontman of 16 horsepower- likes to make his lyrics deeply religious and yet his songs are reallygood.
zZz - Ectacy - my first nsfw sift. In essence just a psychedelic rocknroll song. Ecstacy, give it to me.
My Brightest Diamond - Hymne a l'amour Another great Blogoteque (who do the 'take away concerts') production. My Brightest Diamond's Shara Wurden covers Edith Piaff
And finally, because i like rocknroll, a true 60's rocknroll classic. Billy Preston - Short Fat Fannie
