prometheus-deleted scene-the engineer speaks

a deleted scene from prometheus where the engineer speaks shedding a bit more light on the motivations of the engineers and their creation of the black goo and possible annihilation of the human race.

when weyland asks for more life the engineer responds with an almost visceral disgust.

i have watched this movie a few times and once my disappointment from my own expectations receded.the questions posed became that more intriguing.the movie still has some major issues, thanks to lindelof, but it does get better after you drop those expectations.

nope, sorry, still rubbish. +1 for the hilarious slap of Fassbenders head being ripped off and used to slap weyland.

such a shame that Lindenhof or Scott were allowed anywhere near Spaths original script.

My friends and I discussed why we felt Prometheus failed... the biggest problem we saw is unlike the earlier(later?) Aliens movies, you didn't care about the crew. There wasn't enough emotional development for you to care when people's heads start getting ripped off.

Subtlety. The first two had so much depth and subtlety to the character development. Unscripted dialog. Impromptu chatter borne of the actor's own interpretation of what they feel in the moment as that character. Indiscernable background conversations among all cast members - including major characters, minor characters, and even extras - that make you believe they are part of a real, vast world you know almost nothing about. This eleiminates disbelief and allows the viewer to invest emotionslly into the characters and thus the action they are a part of. Works 1000 times better than CGI.

And it's why those films are so quotable. Aliens particularly. Just line after line of it!
