I know, not what's meant here by EIA, but really... This is how evolution works. Give the swimming bats a hundred thousand years and it'll be as nimble as an otter at sea. Those big wings evolved into manta-ray like wings. Looks like it's already half-way there.

I'm reminded of the time I was walking along a park trail with my friend when we encountered a large bat "walking" down the trail on its wings. We turned around and ran the hell away based on the theory that a bat behaving strangely was something to run the hell away from.

New Olympic event, the bat stroke.
