Turkish Football Hooligans Riot with Police on the Pitch

Supporters of the Fenerbahçe football club of the Turkish Süper Lig tear up their own stadium and invade the pitch to fight with police after losing the championship to Galatasaray on May 12, 2012.

This was the same evening, and all in my neighbourhood: http://videosift.com/video/Hooligans-Flip-Burn-Cop-Cars-and-put-them-out

This is not cool. It could have been that they're angry because the game was unfair somehow, but from what I'm reading over the news that doesn't seem to be their primary reason. I'm reading that they were throwing plastic chairs at their own team players, meaning the outrage was against them and not to the refs. But then I am also reading stories of stabbing and smashing of shop windows out in the streets. What the hell is that all about?

It seems they are nothing but a bunch of overgrown babies whining because things didn't go their way...

There's a book by Bill Buford called, "Among the Thugs" which is his personal account of his infiltration of the seedy world of football thuggery in the UK in the early nineties-These Brits would attend matches throughout Europe with the purpose of inciting riot in order to commit crimes like looting, shoplifting, etc. Cause a panic at a match, take it out into the streets and the city is ours was the plan. Great read.

The behind the scenes cops thing with the *water bottles was amusing for some reason. Like boxers between rounds. Pity it cut off before the resolution
