Rioting with a little class. No looting allowed during G20.

With all the madness that went on in Toronto during the G20, at least some citizens decided to oppose the destruction and shut down continued criminal activity.

That was awesome.

Ever since I saw videos of idiots breaking stuff I wondered why the peaceful protesters didn't get in there and kick the #!$* out of the idiots making them look bad.

Maybe because their peaceful, but I like to think that if I was trying to have a peaceful protest I wouldn't have a problem being violent to someone trying to make me look bad.

This guy did a better job than the police! He actually protected property and stopped a thief! The police just beat their shields and snatch peaceful protesters while letting property damage happen in front of them.

Yeah when I first saw some theft pictures at the G20 I just thought of the old adage one bad apple spoils the bunch. It bugs me because I know people think in those terms and that the media will devote a lot of time to that if they mention the G20 protests at all.

Fletchsays...

These jackasses join and infect every peaceful protest that gets media coverage. I wish the "legit" peaceful protesters would just take 5 minutes or so and mass gank the SOB's. Maybe they would think twice about pulling this shit if they knew the price was an ass-kicking.

The reason I up voted this? Check out the guy in the brown shirt who's about to loot the store after the first guy leaves. He's got half his leg inside the store, and then stops in his tracks when he realizes the first guy got tackled for doing the same thing.

That guy got owned. He had it coming too, it isn't the best idea to try to steal from a store during a protest by yourself. At least when a bunch of people do it they can't stop everyone.

He was just being a leader. I applaud his efforts, although they were thwarted.

You're only a leader if you have followers. He was a fool.

You can only have followers if you lead.

I'm not debating that, as it is a fact. But he was not being a leader, he was taking advantage of the situation for personal gain. A real leader leads for others not himself.

The true leader is the "What-are-you-doing-don't-steal" guy. His leadership garnered respect and thus followers. The ill fated leadership of the thief gained him no respect because the crowd surrounding him did not share his values. Successful leadership is dependent on the potential followers around you and their collective values. Richard Dawkins is a leader in sciencetific/atheist circles, but if he were to walk into a church he would fail to inspire. Likewise, a priest or pastor excels at leading in a church, but may elicit no response when attempting to lead outside his or her parish, such as those God-Hates-Fags Baptists when they go anywhere outside their bubble.

In conclusion: The thief misinterpreted his potential follower's collective values, thus allowing a rival leader to rise to power and confront him.
