It's upsetting when people inappropriately laugh at a comedian's very human, very vulnerable outpourings - because he's a comedian and they think everything he says is supposed to be funny. Just seems like a desperate lack of empathy.

Only happened a few times here but whatever.

Bit of a change of pace to see Louis CK so vulnerable. You can tell it came from the heart.

I know... I love that he can effortlessly talk about throwing his kid in the dumpster, but the loss of the most crass comedian of all time gets him all teary eyed.

I'm still waiting for the reincarnation of Bill Hicks. The man was a legend, I don't know if he will ever be rivaled.

Don't get me wrong, I love Louis, but I'm still waiting for him to speak to the truth of the North American socio-economic situation like Carlin did.

Haven't you seen his newer show Louie? Watching that makes me sure the entire show comes from the heart. A really funny, strange, loving, crazy heart.

I guess I didn't take it that way, they weren't laughing at him or his pain, the event seemed more like a wake than a funeral. They were remembering Carlin the comedian and I think the best tribute any comedian could get would be laughter.
