Lady Ga Ga before she was famous

"Wow, who knew she actually has talent."

You may dislike her music or her style, but she is undeniably talented. This is just a more relatable performance. She is much more involved in her music than most comprable artists. I'm not that big a fan, and I really don't like her over-the-top front, but I give her much more credit for her success than the other young chart-topping artists out there.

...or she didn't have money to burn on exotic fashion, and now she does?

Does this mean her current incarnation (weird makeup, hair etc) is nothing more than that, just a front to promote sales.
She seems much more likable like a normal human being.

The Black Eyed Peas were awesome in Brazil for years and years, they were told if they wanna be marketable here's a Fergie. They accepted it because after years of working your ass off with crappy vans and lugging your stuff around, how about you get a payout and a nest egg?

I think she really enjoys being Lady Ga Ga, so I doubt she's "sold out". Her creativity and talent thats evident in this video is still in her current music. And I'm glad she didn't turn out to be another Norah Jones

To all the haters:

If you'd read an interview of her, you'd understand that she did not sell out to become what she is today. She loves the showmanship and style of Freddy Mercury and pop art, which she incorporates into her show and videos.

If anything, staying the girl in this video would have made her a sell-out.

Agreeing with zomgunicorns, it's fantastic that she didn't become the next Snor-ah Jones.

ravermansays...

I hate sellouts, leaving their honest art to leverage their god given talent to become internationally successful and share their watered down art with billions globally.

I hate artists, wrapped up in snobbery, convinced they're better than everyone else because their lack of actual talent, forces them to suffer in poverty and obscurity while the rest of us spend each day trying to make a living.

Give me the genuine talented performer who doesnt do it for the art or the money - but the joy it brings other people.
