FlowersInHisHairsays...How much oil!?
lucky760says...This fascinates me.

siftbotsays...Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by lucky760.
mintbbbsays...We usually grill steaks (charcoal grill - Mr. NetRunner is Mr. Grillmaster, he rocks!). But I usually end up getting a 4-pack from Costco, then having 2, 2 go to the freezer.. And then I never remember to take the ones in the freezer out to thaw in the fridge in time.
The problem is: I have a teeny freezer atm, I really can't do the freezing in a sheet pan before packing it up. Also, we love the 'just grilling on the grill' and not putting anything in the oven. But I WILL try doing it this way, sounds very tempting! Would be great for those rainy days when you really, really wanted steak but it just keeps raining!
EvilDeathBeesays...Yeah, charcoal grilling makes everything taste better. And the oven step seems like a bit of a faff to me (I want my steak now!), however, I really must give this method a go

TheFreaksays...I do almost the opposite with fresh steaks.
Cold from the fridge, cook in a 275 degree oven until 125 in the center, then sear on each side quickly. Perfectly even steaks, no grey band around the edges.
