alien_conceptI despise X Factor with a pure passion. So I absolutely HAD to *promote this amazingly talented girl, who is frankly fucking wasted on this dross!
siftbotPromoting this video and sending it back into the queue for one more try; last queued Tuesday, August 28th, 2012 12:32pm PDT - promote requested by alien_concept.
spoco2She was good. The horrendously manipulative music and editing overlaid on top of the whole thing is so painful.
spoco2Hang on... this gave the impression she was just someone who had never done this before.
But this aired just now, August 2012, and yet:
So, the Osfest performance may have happened after this was recorded, but she had at least competed (and one would have to assume performed) before this, and released an album...
So, while I like her, something twigged that she seemed a little too comfortable while singing, a little too well rehearsed to be doing this the first time.
Stupid 'reality' tv
FlowersInHisHairWho said she'd never performed before? She wrote the song and can play the guitar... it's pretty much a given that she's performed before, right?

spoco2Well, except the last part where she says she never thought she could do that, and she's only ever had her friends and family say that she's good... kind of alludes to her never having performed in front of a crowd does it not? They certainly do their best to give the impression this is her first time doing anything.

jqpublickjokingly says...Gee, a slick and savvy tv show spins a come-from-nowhere story via effective (albeit biased) editing to get more people watching?
Say, what's the premise of this show again?

wax66Didn't even need to see the emotional end. She got into the song and it was an instant upvote. I seriously hope I can buy and download one of her songs some day.

You could have done - except there was a strong possibility she was going to beat "Little Mix" (last years winners) to number one this week. Following a swift rule change she was forced to pull the track from itunes - even though it's still showing at number 5 in the midweek charts.

dhdigitalsays...As a bartender and as a patron, I lived this song and I hate myself for it, but love how candid it is. Total up vote.
