Emily Faces Racism

mlxsays...

Thank joedirt. I understand kommie's vote, but posted this partly because of what I think is it's significance in the archetype of social change.

I am also simply proud of this girl for standing up for herself to her bigoted parents. I live in a Southern, small community where there is alot of racism. My kids understand that their friends might be racist because the parents probably are, too. It's a tough cycle to break and this video epitomizes that.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

Go Emily. The sad thing is that her parents were probably at Woodstock or something similar giving lipservice at least to her ideas. Now they drive BMWs and shop at Nieman Marcus. Can an entire generation be labeled sell-outs?

How's he supposed to know it's stupid unless he watches it? For three minutes of his time, he's entitled to comment on it.

I am gloomy. Maybe it's because I grew up watching a lot of talk shows, but this shit is soooooo Sally Jesse Raphael circa 1989 that I don't see any reason to put this one single girl on a pedastal.
