Yet more evidence, if any were needed, that there are -way- too many people out there who are too stupid to safely own a gun. It's just damned lucky he only shot himself, and not some innocent bystander.

Most modern handguns are extremely difficult to fire accidentally. I have no idea what sort of gun it is, but he is definitely absent-mindedly fumbling around with it like an idiot before it goes off. He needs another safety course and also a new gun with better safeties.

edit:

I dunno the backup syntax offhand, but I think it's this one:

It's also one of many, and I dunno who is ripping off who.

And what if this was a cooked round through no fault of the gun or the operator?

Then we'd have proof that guns -can- kill people. In which case, this video will disappear in short order, thanks to the NRA.

I've never heard of any case of ammo spontaneously firing itself (especially while someone is fucking around with the gun it's in). But we have hundreds of cases of "experts" shooting themselves by accident. My money is on the latter in this case too.

"Cooked" rounds only happen in automatic weapons where the chamber becomes hot enough to cause the propellent to spontaneously ignite. That cannot be the case here.

Of course, it could be some sort of defect, but it's pretty clear to me watching the video that he wasn't handling the gun with anything like the respect something so dangerous deserves.

Fairbssays...

Two things... 1. Why the need to be messing around with the gun in the first place. I can see checking to make sure where it is supposed to be and leaving it alone, but he's moving all around being squirmy with it. 2. It kind of looked like he shot himself in the wiener.
