Yogisays..."A photographer from national geographic recounts an amazing experience with a right whale."
Right Whale...capitalize the name of the whale or idiots like me keep looking for the whale on the right or think that there are wrong whales.
robbersdog49says...What a shot.
zombieatersays...What a wonderful experience that must be - to see such beautiful animals up close. I admire the philosophy of being humbled by the presence of such amazing creatures.
Meanwhile my students brag about running over animals in their trucks, backing up and running over them again. *sigh*
GeeSussFreeKsays...I guess he has to give him the right of way, har har har!
quantumushroomsays...I love Right Whales! They want you to keep more of your sand dollars.

siftbotsays...Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by aspartam.
legacy0100says...I saw this picture not too long ago on a TED talk and I was hoping they had a video of this encounter. Looks like they're just rehashing the pictures unfortunately. Still, the photo alone is enough to blow your mind away.
Lowensays...where's a saddle and an underwater friendly cowboy hat when you need it

honkeytonk73says...I've been next to a female Right whale... *with her baby* off the coast of Massachusetts. She brought the baby nearby to apparently show the baby off. It was amazing how friendly these creatures were. They'd turn their heads to get a good close look... and even seemed to playfully blow water. They were literally 2 feet from me. An amazing experience for sure. These whales aren't just 'stupid fish' they are remarkably intelligent creatures.
