Man gets jail time for sitting down too slow in court

vermonter says...

When you are in court for failing to respond to a previously judicial decision and then in response to a judge's direction to sit down announce that you will only do so under duress... Well, it seems that he decided that is what he wanted to happen.

There are legal procedures for appealing or challenging laws and decisions you don't like. Simply refusing to acknowledge the courts and police is not one of them. There are plenty of abuses of authority out there, but it isn't clear to me from what has been presented that this is one of them.

I love how this nomination has a whole party suddenly redefining the meaning of the word experience. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Sidewalk parking? Almost lethal

If it is 3x speed then it takes 30 seconds from when the car hits before they even appear to go check on the driver and a minute before someone reaches in and helps them. Even more than a minute later we don't see the driver get out. I'm struck that there was an accident and everyone seems more concerned about the physical damage than if the driver is okay. Maybe they were talking? Hard to tell.

Gravity Powered Plane uses no fuel.

vermonter says...

It's just an airship and glider. The only 'innovation' I see is adding a great amount of parasitic drag to the glider portion of the flight to run compressed air turbines. Overall it would require 'recharging' compressed air while landing. I can't imagine that it would be fun going any distance in this craft either as it looks to have very slow speeds. A glider that can go hundreds of miles sounds good, but would require hours in a descending glide.
