Bush Sr. Bawls Like a Baby in Public-For Shame
You're 100% wrong on this one choggie. I think a crucial flaw in America's soft-power role in the US is its perceived ability not to just be the world's policeman, but also to provide positive diplomatic solutions to world conflicts. This is something that the US lacks right now (that is clearly an understatement) as a result of G.W.'s "shootout at high noon" stance. The world needs to perceive the humanity of the leaders of the US, or it will continue to turn against us. Its just a shame that Bush doesn't show this kind of emotion in press conferences rather than meaningless quips like, "Nobody wants to see people die," or "Nobody likes a war." People (read: international leaders) think its bullshit.
Moreover, since 1973, the "Queen surrendered to the EEC" or in which the UK joined the organization, the British economy has gradually and clearly been outstripping that of the US. Their growth has been consistently higher, they did not experience the stagflation debacle of the 1970s, and the pound is and has been literally murdering the dollar for decades.
While I appreciate your opinions for the most part, I believe your stance on this one is outdated at best and part of the mindset that is contributing to the "nation's demise" at worst.
Blue Man Group - Global Warming Warning
This vid is awesome. The chogger is correct, however, that we have no current plans to reduce global warming in any significant way. Kyoto will barely touch the problem, even if it were signed into law, warming from non-human sources is immense, and the worst culprits per capita are the so-called 3rd world countries who are in no position to damage their economies to protect the environment. This problem will require global cooperation on a massive scale not seen before in human history (maybe World War 2? but then that hardly seems a good example for global cooperation. Among the allies at least).
Best get your snorkels ready.

The Pro-Economy Argument Against Drilling in ANWR
I also think that the vid takes on too big of a scope...tackles global warming, oil dependence, the economy, renewable energy, all in 13 minutes. Not too sure about how they were hoping to pull that off.
