Anonymous Philanthropist Donates 200 Kidneys to Hospital
Haha Glad you all liked it so much! I work in the art department for The Onion News Network and this was one of the most fun pieces to put together. (Also one of the most stressful because that cycle was VERY art-heavy. (Let's just say there are more surprises in store for you all over the next two months as more webisodes from that cycle of shooting are released. :-)
To "iwastheturkey," - I sculpted a kidney out of clay and then created a rubber mold of the clay kidney. Then we used a polyurethane casting material (called Flex Foam-IT) to make tons of fake kidneys. (Tedious process, as we only made two molds and we needed A LOT of kidneys...) They each took about 20 minutes to dry enough so that we could coat them and paint them and then they were set to dry and await a second coat of paint. I also made the "This is only the beginning" note, and we all thought it'd be funny to throw the hat and some socks in the bag, though I think only the hat is seen in the final cut.
We've been keeping track of all of the discussion that this video has caused and we're loving it. haha Again, from all of us at ONN's Art Department, thanks for watching and so glad you enjoyed it! :-)
