keith olbermann-bespoke prophecy 7 years ago-special comment

remember when keith olbermann was on MSNBC? and remember when he did his first special comment where he roasted donald rumsfeld and the iraq war.how he struck a nerve in all of us,speaking in a way that directly reflected our frustration, and anger towards the bush administration, the media and the complicit politicians.

this was his last special comment before he flamed out and left/quit/got fired from corporate media.

this last comment was a direct response to supreme court justice antonin scalia controversial legal precedent of citizens united, which we all saw for what it was,but the neoliberals and conservatives were drunk with glee.

watching this special comment 7 years later is fairly bone chilling in it's accuracy.

this was most certainly when olbermann was on top of his game.

Interesting rant. From a media person who will undoubtedly defend to the death the ability of "the media" to pick and choose who is elected and what misguided, ill-intended, and destructive bills are enacted into law. Clearly contemptuous of any world view other than his own.

For a democracy to survive, there has to be compromise and a willingness to understand and provide some level of respect to differing viewpoints. We've just been through eight years of selective enforcement of the laws, selective respect for individual rights, and policy driven by executive order to bypass the legislative process.

Why all the sudden "fear and loathing in Washington DC" when the current arrogant, misguided administration is using the tactics of the former arrogant, misguided administration????

Did you miss the bit about this being 7 years old?? His rant isn't partisan at all, simply denouncing corporate control of politics. I don't see how compromise and respecting differing viewpoints means you need to accept the influence of corporate money. Wealthy individuals already tip the scales enough. This last election was a reminder that there will always be a limitation to their power, the media's power in particular is dwindling.

It is rather disturbing how accurate he was. Trump isn't really too far off from a Palin, all idiotic bluster and charisma masking an intellectual and ethical vacuum. He's clearly just signing off on whatever he's told, with his own pet issues getting most of the media flak. Can't imagine Trump from before 2015 or so giving much of a crap about the Johnson amendment or anything Jesus-related, but tell him in 2017 it'll get the evangelicals on his side and of course it's a vital issue.

I think I would have preferred Palin, as her family in the White House (rather than swinging quasi-bachelor Trump) would have been entertaining on some level.

Might have to look into seeing what Olbermann is saying about the next few weeks / months / years...

They hypocrisy of your comment is really just staggering.
