Tacoma Police Car Plows Through Crowd

drradon says...

Don't really understand the mentality of some of the comments above. So, if a police officer attempts to put a stop to an illegal activity , the perpetrators of that activity are free to attack the police officer and put his or her life in danger? It seems that you think we're all free to obey the laws we feel like obeying and blow off the rest - and if we do, then the police shouldn't take any effort to stop us? Sounds like a quick path to anarchy.

Congress Under Armed Attack Live Stream

looked "mostly peaceful" to me - why is this so abhorrent when burning of city centers and attacking municipal buildings is considered acceptable protest?

They are both incredibly wrong and sanctimoniously defending one while disparaging the other only adds fuel to the decisiveness that permeates our political environment.

but, of course not relevant to the burning of municipal buildings in our cities by BLM demonstrators - that was the voice of the people...

How China Broke the World's Recycling

drradon says...

Idiot. He completely lost any credibility with me with the statement that "you can only solve an economic problem with economics". Really? I can think of a lot of economic problems that have been solved with chemistry, physics, and engineering - because the underlying problem is one of chemistry, physics, or engineering. When the economics dictates that it's worth investing in the chemistry, physics, or engineering to solve a problem, then that work will be done - either by private enterprise or by government sponsored research.

The problem could also be greatly solved by the using public - if they properly sorted their plastic recylcables, then there would be much less of the waste plastic - but they are too Fing lazy to do that. I would respond to the diatribe against the plastics industry with an old Pogo quote: "we have met the enemy, and he is US..."

And the Republicans didn't "pack" the supreme court - they exercised the authority that the Constitution and Senate rules afforded them - no less so than the Democrats used their authority and rights to trash every supreme court nominee that has been put forth by Republican administrations. If you want to play hardball, you won't get much sympathy from me when you complain that the opposition elects to play hardball too...

Happy to see this clip disappear...

Since it's exactly what the right promised to do, and the reason they broke all norms and precedents to pack the supreme court with anti choice judges, I don't understand your misplaced dismissiveness.
Shall I guess which side of the issue you stand on?

Judge Barrett isn't worth considering

drradon says...

Mr. Janice Joplin T-shirt clerked with exactly who on the Supreme Court? With a law degree from where??? And that qualifies him to comment on the competence of Ms. Barrett? Not quite as funny as our current crop of comedians who think they're qualified to comment on national policy...

The best part of the VP debate

drradon says...

this is how idiots get elected: completely ignore any rational real world analysis of the policies propounded by the debaters and focus on trivialities instead. This is how Trump got elected; this is how the next idiot will get elected. And we wonder why politics is such a sh*thole in this country. Shameful.
