http://edition.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/meast/05/30/egypt.virginity.tests/index.html?iref=NS1 ...[A] senior general who asked not to be identified said the virginity tests were conducted and defended the practice.
"The girls who were detained were not like your daughter or mine," the general said. "These were girls who had camped out in tents with male protesters in Tahrir Square, and we found in the tents Molotov cocktails and (drugs)."
The general said the virginity checks were done so that the women wouldn't later claim they had been raped by Egyptian authorities.
"We didn't want them to say we had sexually assaulted or raped them, so we wanted to prove that they weren't virgins in the first place," the general said. "None of them were (virgins)."

ShepppardPretty sure this one's earned a *Wtf.
siftbotAdding video to channels (Wtf) - requested by Shepppard.
Lithicsays...They didn't want the women to later accuse the authorities of sexually assaulting them, so the authorities sexually assaulted them? *LOGIC!

gwiz665But.. but isn't a virginity test poking and prodding a vagina? Doing that against the vaginaowners will is rape, isn't it..? My brain can't handle the lack of logic..
>>error<< >>Logic fail!<<
*head explodes*
Jinxsays...Also I'm pretty sure you can sexually assault somebody who isn't a virgin. If I'm honest I don't have much experience with rape, virgins or not, so I'm hardly the expert, but from my understanding its to do with whether they give consent and not whether they happen to have done it before.
Can anybody clarify for me?
bareboards2There's nothing to clarify. You got it.

Maybe you didn't mean it to come across this way, but your comment reads like you're asking for
clarification on whether or not it's considered rape if you sexually assault a woman who is already sexually active. I don't get how anyone would need clarification on this. It's rape.
