Abel_Priscsays...What a strange effect! I'm sure the first person to accidentally do this freaked out at first.
What happens after the trip around the world? Does he land back on the dock and continue the duel?

If you watch the video to the end, you end up landing on the deck of a ship floating in the middle of no-where. If you jump off the ship you fall to your death and cannot retrieve your corpse.
12940says...That's pretty neat. Might have to get on my DK to check it out on my buddy.
...Death grip is also handy for pulling people to their deaths from high places...
Silent002says...I tried this out with a friend the other night, works just as shown here... no surprise there!
We assumed in the end that the second boat is a point that the game refers to as a parent object, possibly to avoid people getting stuck in limbo between maps if the server is having problems; they'd just be dumped there during the loading screen. Sometimes you can see similar problems like this at peak times. There's a small chance that if you try to get into an instance of some kind and have a disconnect then (if you're Alliance) you'll be ported to the graveyard in Westfall, perhaps because that's a parent for the graveyard / resurrection mechanic.
This also worked for us on the Menethil -> Theramore and Menethil -> Valgarde boats, sending us to the same underground boat.
By the way, this can also be done to any hostile mob or player in Booty Bay so if you're on a PvP server just stay away from the boat!

antsays...Don't try it or get banned Blizzard said!
Psychologicsays...I got stuck on a zeppelin in hyperspace back before the first xpac. I think one of the continents had crashed, so everyone on the boat (6 or so people) were stuck there with nothing to do. Eventually I stripped down and took a dive... problem is I never hit the ground. I had to log out for 15 minutes or so just to have the option of ressing at a spirit healer.
I played WoW up until a few months before WotLK shipped and sold my accounts. Wonderful game, but I haven't really looked back. Definitely a "time vampire" if you want to maintain the level of gear needed to make the game really fun.
