Why does the media hate John Edwards?

John Edwards isn't a media celebrity, but is the only Democrat challenging the corporate establishment. He is the only Democrat talking about poverty in America. He is the only Democrat to have never taken a dime from lobbyists.

John Edwards hasn't raised $200 million like Obama and Hillary. The media won't cover his message. He's an underdog.

I think some people may be put off by his trial attorney background- I remember stories about some of the lawsuits he handled being brought up in the last election.

Also, because he was part of the Kerry debacle.

And he looks like Jack Tripper.

But I am behind his message.

I disagree with his theory of social change, plain and simple. If there's anything that the last 6 years have shown us, it's that the "50 plus 1" style of confrontational government and leadership is destructive for the country.

I won't support a candidate who brags about wanting to give us four more years of the stuff, even if I do agree with him on many of the issues.

Wow, I didn't know we were allowed to post media-bias-against-presidential-candidates videos here unless they were about Ron Paul. I'm surprised Siftbot even let you embed it. Better report this bug to Lucky.

Hes a good guy, but hes no Ron Paul.
Out of the dems, it would be either him or Gravel.

Hell why be so partisan about it ?
Paul / Gravel 08.

Need a better system.

Dag mentioned his trial attorney past. Apparently, he was a VERY good and successful litigator. He reportedly won 28 million dollars in verdicts over a 5 year period. His specialty was lawsuits against OB/GYN docs who had delivered infants who were later diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CP). The problem with this is the great majority of CP cases are of unknown origin. The following link is from a conservative periodical, so read it in that context, but it pretty well spells out how most in the biomedical field feel about his conduct;
http://www.warriorsfortruth.com/john-edwards-vice-president.html
Also, from Wikipedia;
"Recent research has demonstrated that intrapartum asphyxia is not the most important cause (of CP), probably accounting for no more than 10 percent of all cases."
The contradictory message about being for the "common man" while building this home has also miffed a few;
http://www.carolinajournal.com/exclusives/display_exclusive.html?id=3848
Having grown up in his home state, there seems to be a lot of concern there about how genuine he is based on his history and actions. For what it's worth.

Hahaha, nice, Kronosposeidon. I hear you. I like Ron Paul too--he's refreshingly honest and candid and actually makes true Republicanism seem appealing--but I'm sorry, getting rid of the Dept. of Education is wack-job logic to me, plus he's got a lot of creepy anti-gay background noise. Edwards is a also a much more realistic candidate and someone needs to address the poison of lobbyist influence in this society. He isn't glamorous the way Hillary and Obama are, but he's got a solid message.

Why is VideoSift so insanely in love with Ron Paul? Let's see some other candidates being looked at.

Edwards has his own juggernaut special interest group, and that would be the "American Association for Justice" formerly known as the "American Trial Lawyers Association." (It developed a bad connotation.) That has traditionally been the great majority of his fund-raising.

The true cost of the tort system in America may never be known. It's weaving thru our society like a spider web, making it hard to see. There have been estimates made;
http://www.triallawyersinc.com/html/part01.html

Edwards may lose more and more of the trial lawyers, I'm sorry, Association for Justice, support if he is deemed to be unelectable, but he's still the most dear to their heart. I'm not crazy about Ron Paul, probably won't vote for him, but if you want a guy unencumbered with special interest, he's probably your man.
